Awesome writeup, Lance! Thanks for sharing your experience with us. I usually carry just some basics -- food, water, matches, etc. But with the "change in the season," I wasn't thinking about shelter away from the vehicle. So just today I threw a sleeping bag in my backseat, as well as another one in my wife's car. Food & water won't do you any good if you freeze to death!!

I just picked up a wool Filson blanket for stuff like this!

Filson has some great wool clothing when the time turns for the worst!
