2 Weeks In The Camper

Hey all, thought I would start a thread documenting our 2-week stay in the camper. We are in between houses until Oct. 1st so we decided to "rough it" and stay in the camper and commute to town as necessary. We started Friday morning, I stayed out until this afternoon but my girlfriend had to go in for work yesterday...so far so good. We are lucky enough to live in a place where there is a lot of camping relatively close to town (w/in 50 mi.). I'll keep posting pics as we find and spend time at different places...trying to move every 2 days!

Here are some pics of our first 2 campsites (Fri/Sat nights). Had to do some 4X4in' to get into the second one. Also a few pics of some hikes we took nearby and our "back yard", creek included!

Cheers!

Great pictures. It's going down below freezing at night here in the Sierras. I see you have a big fire and are wearing a beany. :REOutCampFire03: Hope the house comes through before the white ground cover of Fall.:REOutIceFishing:

Gotta say: this is cool. If you were doing this but didn't have the FWC, you'd be called vagabonds, bums, or whackos. But here? Nah. You're livin' the dream.

In any case, they're still dirtbags, though. ;-) Which is meant strictly as a complement coming from a fellow dirtbag.

Very cool. The most we spent in our FWC was 3 weeks, but that was moving every day. I'm curious to see how it's working out for you over the course of the 2 weeks. Don't FWC's look so cool on tacos?

I'd rather spend 2 weeks in the FWC, than at home, any day.

Enjoy and stay warm! :REOutCampFire03:

thanks kc!

here's an update, weather has been super wet around here lately, some snow up high and lots of overcast. spent last 3 nights in town , with the both of us working early in th am it seemed like the best option...still good "camping", err, parking spots in town so still not too bad. Last night we were able to get out of town again, about 20 miles north. made camp pretty late but woke up to some crazy fog...stayed nice and dry and warm in the camper though. its nights like these when we can cook, read and sleep in total comfort in the camper that we really appreciate it! anyway, seemed to have misplaced my camera , so these are just a few i took with my computer...pretty poor quality but gives you an idea of what we woke up to. cheers!

well, back from another night in the rain....the camper has been holding up great considering how much its been raining...we succumbed last night to some serious urban camping (sorry about the poor pic quality)...won't say where but i am sure you can guess , which was actually really pleasant. everything in the high country around here is pretty saturated so it was nice to have some level, wet but not muddy, ground with some grass for the dogs. included a pic of a cool blazer/fwc set up and a couple other places we've been along the way (guess i just like taking pictures of the truck :) ). anyway, 1 week down, 1 to go. funny how it hasn't rained in months, move into the camper and it rains everyday! cheers!

hey all, well been slacking a little the last couple days...spent 2 nights house sitting and a couple nights in our workshop. it was a blast though, even with the inclement weather the experience was a good one. now, if i could only figure out how not to have to be in town for work and i think i need a bumper dumper and we could do it all winter long :) ! here's a fitting parting shot i thought...nice to have a home again. cheers!
