$200 5KW Portable Diesel Air Heater

Right, Diesel/kerosene, are what discussing here, but there are LPG and wood/charcoal versions too.
There are several manufacturers. Sigmar is probably most common in N.America.

What would be really sweet is a system that could burn diesel, And/or solid fuels (wood/charcoal). That would be awesome.....

Care to share any pics of your setup? I'd like to see how you have this thing mounted. How you get the fuel to it since it's gravity fed? No fuel pump?

My heater arrived yesterday but unfortunately the remote was not included. When I sent a message to the seller, I noticed they changed the listing (after I bought) to not include the remote so I am hesitant to set this thing up in case I need to send it back. For the case, I picked up a rolling toolbox from Home Depot on sale with a goal of having a fully contained unit with fuel, power, heater, muffler, and all hoses in one box (properly insulated, vented, etc). but I may have to change that plan after seeing the size of the fuel tank. Even my 2gal lawnmower tank wouldn't fit with the lid closed, and if I put the 10L tank on the back it blocks the lid from opening. Perhaps the local Tractor Supply or hobby store has a fuel tank that is similar to the 10L but slightly wider and shorter. 0 for 2 today.

Jumping on the bandwagon here- I've ordered up some parts and started working on the assembly. Few parts are scheduled to come in soon that will help with the project.

After inspecting my unit I've decided to apply a conformal coating to the main circuit board to ensure no corrosion occurs from condensation. I would highly recommend this if your board is uncoated. Next up I started sorting out how the assembly will fit in the case. A plan was forming to keep the unit versatile- capable of heating either my car, a tent or my garage. The wheeled case should make this an easy task. Especially with a bracket to mount the assembly from my cars rain gutter. Anyways- the internal bracket will be remade once I get some more argon.

You should probably remove the coating from the heatsink, it's going to act as a thermal insulator and prevent it from cooling effectively.

You are right- It will have a negative impact on the performance of the heatsink. I'll be removing some of the coating to fix this.

I picked up a urethane coating from Amazon (MG Chemicals 4223-55ML) that has an applicator much like nail polish- a bush attached to the lid. Provided the part was clean (new) just brush the liquid onto the pcb. There are YouTube videos, but it's actually a very simple process. Just be mindful that the coating is an insulator (doesn't conduct) and you can't coat the connector pins for any plugs.

well my heater arrived damaged, missing critical parts and the amazon seller won't take it back as of yet, claim has been file with amazon, thankfully I documented the opening with a camera as I had suspicions/ Shouldn't be an issue getting refunded. bit bummed out as I wanted to use this and waited a month for it. Will probably order a new one and get it sent out.

Got mine set up and running on a stand. Still trying to sort out the case situation and battery run times but it seems to work well. A low roar on high but I am betting the case will quiet things down.

A surprise was after 40 minutes of running on high the plastic case was cool to the touch with the hot air end being slightly warm.

I am going on another trip this weekend, this time, it's Cloudland Canyon SP. The weather will be identical to my first trip with the heater (windy, 20's and two days of rain), but I am bringing new modifications.
I am replacing the longer 4" dryer hose with shorter 3" semi-rigid duct.
I am going to install a Meanwell power supply to run the heater, since the campsite will have electricity, I might as well take advantage. I will probably have that done Wed, and tested.

First test run tonight. Heater works and puts out plenty of heat. Still sorting out the controls at the moment. The remote displays Chinese and if anyone can provide input to change to English, that'd be appreciated. I'm going to reach out to the seller after my camping trip.

I hooked up the power supply tonight, and mounted an AC outlet. I ran kerosene through it at 35c for 20mins; worked perfectly. I added a short pigtail with insulated disconnects, this way, I can quickly connect to AC power or DC power from my side battery.
