2000-2007 Lexus LX

Hey!

Looking to join the overland world and am interested in a 2000-2007 Lexus LX.

Is this a solid vehicle for 10-15k? How many miles could I expect it to last?

Anything else I should consider in the 10-15k range? I could go as high as 25k but would like to keep it down if possible.

Looking for something I won’t mind abusing driving around looking for fly fishing spots, on long road trips with our 2 dogs and through deep snow.

Daily driver is new Subaru outback.

Depending on your expectations, a higher mileage one will be in your price range.
Maintained, they will last longer than most. Very durable.

GX470 (4.7 V8)
GX460 (4.6 V8)
4Runner (2003-2009 have the 4.7L V8) all others are V6 (equally good

Is there a big drop off in size from the 2000-2007 LX and 2009-2013 GX? Looks like there is simply based on dimensions but don’t have any in person experience with either.

I have 2 decent size dogs...would like to put their kennels in the back and still have room for cargo as I plan to use the roof for a drift boat. Think that would be possible?

Thank you for the suggestion! I’ve considered the GXs but did not consider those 4runners, will look into them.

I Can understand how the LX models are so sought after, beautiful rig. I was hoping to get one in the 150k mileage range. If properly maintained, I figure it should go another 100 with minimal expense but that may be me trying to convince myself.
