Hmmm, He told the mechanic he was going to swap out the 5.4 V-8 for a 24V Cummings and to build the Transmission accordingly. And the Mechanic did. I'm thinking the mechanic walked back inside, laughed his butt off, did a standard rebuild and charged him an arm and a leg. I highly doubt a Ford gas V8 transmission will work on a Dodge inline Diesel.

The 4R100 is a stout trans when built up a little. In fact, lots of the high HP dodge guys are doing away with their chrysler built transmissions, in favor of a built 4r100 or even the 5sp 5r110 version.

I didn't think they would bolt up. Do you need an adapter or to change the bell housing?

There are a couple of places you can buy adapter plates and stand alone transmission controllers.

These can make excellent overland rigs, with tons of potential. Exploring NH has one (not sure on the year), and I "think" he's putting a pop-up roof in it.

Depending on the sellers price point, and given he lists an upgraded front axle plus front & rear armor, this could be a great project for someone.

a pop top roof lengthwise could have an upper penthouse. i think i'd do doormobile style.
