Careful, he gets triggered by "Pirate", whatever that is... ;)

That would be because most people on pirate are quite frankly a bunch of childish ****************** that like to use the words newb and bro A lot and are always condescending and think they are better at every aspect of life if you don’t agree with them 100% . Wouldn’t be surprised if most of them have tapout Tshirts , bedazzled pants and smell heavily of axe body spray .

TTB Twin Traction Beam front suspension experience?

Has anyone swapped out GM IFS for a TTB, Twin Traction Beam? Kinda like a halfway between a solid axle and an IFS. Stronger than and more wheel travel than IFS not as strong and less wheel travel than a SA.

I can get a 91-96 Bronco with TTB, or even a 80-85 F350 with TTB for a good price and it would just be a matter of pulling the TTB off, cutting off the my IFS mounts, some frame reinforcement, welding a couple brackets and bolting everything back up, over a few weeks, lol. This would give me beter front end durability than GM 1500 CVs, more durable front diff, and a few inches more wheel travel, at the expense of several inches less ground clearance.

Older TTB Ford guys please chime in with your experiences. I am looking to keep 4x4 so I would go with TTB instead of TIB found in 2wd trucks.

Had a 1992 Bronco, and it was a hoot to drive in a "spirited" manner.

What you're talking about has been done quite a lot (a LOT) of times. Look up TTB chevy conversions like the one below. If the prerunner crowd is running these set ups with lots of power and big tires, they can't all be wrong.

Drei, don't waste time listening to these *******s talk ******* about TTB. TTB is used extensively in high speed desert racing circles. Go check out Auto Fab's work, Santee, CA. Builds some great rigs with TTB, even swapped at least one Super Duty to TTB. For the wheeling you do it would be a perfect fit!

I want to see you do it! Chevy Dana 44/10 bolt rotors will fit with the Ford caliper and let you keep a matching bolt pattern front and rear. There was an outfit making Hummer H3 brakes fit the Dana 44, you could probably make that work with 17"+ wheels.

******* the naysayers!!!

He's talking about adapting a junkyard stamped-steel TTB front end to his hoopty, not a $10,000-$15,000 Auto Fab custom fabricated/plated hardened-steel heim-jointed long-arm wide-track camber and caster corrected front end.

Hell, their TTB steering linkage alone, is over $2,500.

Wait I thought this other guy was a gm ase tech .....

Oh well , I think if you where gonna go through the effort a ford radius arm setup and a solid axle would work and ride better in the long run .

I thought about a SAS conversion but I really dislike the ride and handling of the SAS compared to my IFS especially since I went to the coilovers. But based on all the comments TTB seems like a very viable and low budget option for me, I'll be looking at around $500 for all the parts once I find a good donor truck.

Stay tuned for more shenanigans!

Again @MTVR is a bit of a ************ that nobody likes on their post but keeps commenting and obviously gets any comments negative about him deleted .

I reported him to the moderators, he does sound awfully similar to another user that's banned from this thread by the moderators.

I chose ExPo for the positive insight and supportive or encouraging crowd that is willing to accept new concepts and ideas for a vehicle that has virtually no aftermarket support. Most of my ideas seemed too wild to work, and most did, some did not. Both mistakes and successes were documented as best as I could and hopefully inspired others to build low budget trucks to get out and explore.

Stay tuned for more shenanigans!

Ya unfortunately this site is starting to fall into the trap of most other sites where so many internet “ Experts“ need to constantly hear the sound of their own voices and can’t move past their own train of thought and bash all those who don’t agree with them and ruin what was one a great site . I look forward to many more of your adventures and trailS in the unexplored Of vehicle mods if I don’t get booted from the sight for speaking my mind lol

Call Auto Fab and see how far $500 will get you...

Why would he call auto fab when he wants to build it himself ?? Not everybody needs to have stuff pre built and installed by people who don’t have their head up there ****** . Some are capable of thinking outside the box and their credit cards to get a vehicle put together. I don’t know why but you seem to rub so many people the wrong way with your comments and general half glass full disposition. Like my comment that got deleted , maybe get out some more and you won’t be so angry online ☺️

All AutoFab's ******* is tube and heims and welds. Not hard for any a**hat with a bender and welder to copy. Unlimited bankroll not required...

The issue with either the SAS or TTB conversion is going to be keeping your ride height low, that’s one of the best things about your rig IMO. Once the driveshaft starts moving with the diff, you’re going to have all kinds of clearance issues, which is why most of the trucks you see with it done have the rocker panels even with the tops of the tires.

The carpet stains do make me want to barf a little too, I think I’d be spending a weekend pulling them out and attempting to dye them black in a kiddie pool.

I'd just pull the carpet and bedline the floor vs dyeing it black. My carpet is black and it doesn't stay clean looking for very long.

I wish my truck had the vinyl floor. It would make it so much easier to keep clean.....
