I just found a "nice" truck for a full size expedition rig.

What I like about it:
Simple crank windows
Manual Tranny
Bench seat
A/C
Suspension Mod

Other than MPG/ the V10 is a great motor from 2002 on. Not plagued by blown plugs, or exh. manifold studs.

I'm seriously considering picking it up

I dig it! It's under 100K miles, and honestly not many people want a V10 anyway so you may even be able to talk it down a bit more...

The funny thing about the V10s is they get like 8-10 MPG all the time, no matter how heavily loaded they are, how many hills you traverse, what kind of gas you burn, how heavy your right foot is... They're impressively consistent. And you're right, can't beat mechanical simplicity (crank windows, stick shift, etc). Plus it looks GREAT. I've always loved gunmetal grey and black, just a good rugged look.

And size-wise, this is one of the smallest full-sizes you'll find (being a single cab, great for shoe-horning into places...), and with the topper, it's got "expedition" written all over it!
