2002 Kimberley Kamper

We are relocating to Minnesota and I don't think we'll be camping very much up there. So, we are thinking about selling our 2002 Kimberley Kamper Classic.

It has seen very little use, it is in excellent condition and everything is still brand new (the original tires still have the little nipples on them). It has all the optional accessories you could get at the time: Complete canvas mesh awning walls, Ensuite, Boat loader package (boat rack, outboard motor mount, double pole carrier), automatic battery charger, additional 12V inlets & oulets, 12V light over the kitchen.

There is a tiny tear in the canvas that my wife stitched up. We do have a lot of extra canvas material to fix it properly and an upholstery shop quoted $20 for the fix. Just never got around to doing it.

Edit: Our house is sold and we are moving on Dec 18. Currently located in Los Angeles area, after that date we will be in Minneapolis.

Wow I lived in Minnesota and if you think there is no camping up there you are sadly mistaken. Not only is Nortern Minnsota wonderful but you are a days ride from North Dakota and South Dakota, the Black Hills, Canada is a day ride with lots of opportunities. Oh and not to mention all areas to explore in MN!!! Keep it because if you sell it you will only regreting it once you get up there.

I also have a small military trailer with a RTT, and I was thinking of using that one instead. But you are right, the KK is a wonderful setup and I am afraid I will regret selling it. I'll have to do some research on some cool place to go to in MN and the surrounding areas.

It is my wife, daughter and I and the KK is perfect. We can all fit comfortably on the queen size foam mattress. On the floor area we can easily fit a folding camping table.
We have the ensuite bathroom which comes in handy with smaller kids ---> Question: "do you have to go to the bathroom?" Answer = "no", but a couple of hours later "Daddy, I have to go to the bathroom..."
You could conceivably do the full setup for the kids and the dogs, so that you and your wife have the queen bed to yourselves. Another option would be to get the kids room option, but then you'd have to have a separate bathroom.

Lawrence this must have cost you big time to buy it originally what with the shippping from Australia etc. Maybe KK have a manufacturing plant in the US as well but they are a Western Australian manufacturer and these are the supreme campers in Australia. They are as tuff as old boot leather and extremely well built.

Just to give you an idea the model you have would be reselling on the secondhand market here for over $30,000.

I love the KK diesel hot water system that they have in their campers now. Does yours have this system?

If this were local to me in Australia I would not hesitate to buy it, only problem is I would have to beat my way through the other buyers to get to it.

A few years back, someone imported a handful of them in hopes of selling them in the US. Unfortunately, the business didn’t last long and these were sold to various owners across the US.

I know, and you guys down under appreciate well built stuff. Plus with the exchange rate now, it comes out to US$500,000. :jump:

It does not. I spoke with Angela at KK many times and she told me to check if Webasto offered it in the States. If not, she mentioned that she would sell me a unit and that it is very simple to retrofit.

I had a different system in mind. I was going to add a water heater and build a hydronic heating system off of it. Simple, yet efficient.

If this were local to me in Australia I would not hesitate to buy it, only problem is I would have to beat my way through the other buyers to get to it.

Maybe I should raise my price. Thruthfully, I am torn about selling it, as I may regret it and I know it would be near impossible to find another.
On the other hand, a friend of the family is in air freight, maybe I should talk to him about sending it to Oz so that I can make enough money to buy a Karavan and ship it back. Yeah, that's the ticket. :sombrero:

Still Avail? What is asking price now? Any inside pics? Do you have all the extra canvas to make the "full setup"? Does yours have a porta pottie? Any shower provisions?

I'm BRAND new to Ex Po, and have been looking into off road pop ups. Liked the Fleetwood Evo, but after reading up on them here, thinking the Kimberley would be better way to go.
