**THIS TRUCK HAS BEEN AN AWESOME PLATFORM TO HAUL OUR LANCE 950 TRUCK CAMPER FOR THE PAST FEW YEARS AND WOULD SUIT ANYONE WITH A SIMILAR SIZED CAMPER. IT IS SETUP WITH TONS OF CHOICE UPGRADES TO MAKE IT THE PERFECT TRUCK CAMPER/FULL TIME RV’ER TRUCK. WOULD NEVER HAVE SOLD IT IF WE DIDN’T REALIZE WE WERE STARTING TO BECOME TOO HEAVY FOR THIS PLATFORM. (IT WASN’T THE CAMPER THAT WAS TOO HEAVY, BUT WE WERE HAULING AN EXTRA 2,000 LBS IN MOTORCYLES, GEAR AND OTHER EQUIPMENT, WHICH MADE US OVERWEIGHT)**

My wife and I bought this truck with the goal of building it out to be the most comfortable, well maintained and reliable 7.3l powerstroke out there. While it has high miles on the clock, the motor/trans was replaced right before we bought it from the previous owner (@ 400,xxx miles) and he had the receipt to prove the work. It was a new motor directly from Ford so I knew the truck would have many, many more miles of life out of it. Theres approx 118k miles now on the new motor. The previous owner had the cab repainted too so the paint was only a few years old when we bought it. The flatbed is pretty indestructible so it had all the key components recently gone through or replaced. The icing on the cake is the extremely rare black and grey FX4 interior trim package with all the bells and whistles. Power seats up from with power lumbar, heated seats, all kept in awesome condition for its age. So with a clean interior, a solid motor and trans and a new paint job I knew it would be worth investing in the truck to build it out further. I then systematically upgraded or replaced pretty much all of the drive train and suspension components over the course of a few years. Literally the only thing that I didn’t replace is the shocks because they seem to be still working great.


The list of replacement parts / upgrades are as follows:

Major Work + Upgrades:


- Brand new windshield since taking pictures
- Compustar T6 full two-way remote start system with ignition relay disconnect for immobilizing the truck when armed. Has a 25min idle program to be used in conjunction with the second alternator for charging. Has like a 1-2 mile range or something crazy like that.
- I installed a 400 amp Denso Hairpin style alternator in the second alternator slot on this motor and a Balmar 618 external regulator with the charge profile set to Lithium. We used this charging setup to charge our 500 AH of Battleborn Batteries in our Lance truck camper and the alternator would routinely deliver 90-120amps at idle or going down the road which would blow our 800 watts of solar out of the water. The reason I set it up was so I could hit the remote start and idle the truck without having to go out to the truck to charge our camper for 15-20 mins when we ran low on battery in the camper. A 350AMP Anderson plug and #2 wire leads is ready to be plugged into the next owner’s lithium RV battery bank.
- Has Apple Car Play double din Pioneer touchscreen radio.
- TS 6 position diesel tuner (always left on 50HP tune)
- Swapped to a ported compressor housing for turbo to work better with the tune
- Installed billet wastegate actuator
- CCV vent tube update/mod
- Upgraded the stock tiny trans cooler with the massive Mishimoto trans cooler
- Has cold air intake and straight piped exhaust
- Swapped to a limited slip 4.10 rear dually Dana 80 axle in 2022 (truck originally was single rear wheel with 3.73 ratio)
- Regeared the front axle to 4.10 and added a limited slip diff. Has a slight inner axle seal leak on the passenger side. I bought the upgrade Dana seals but ran out of time to replace the seal, but can give new owner the new seals for a future repair. Replaced both front vacuum seals, hubs and brake components.
- All new Moog lifetime warranty steering components, pitman arm, tie rods etc in 2022
- Added a new 3 leaf spring pack to front axle on both sides to increase payload capacity. (1 more than stock)
- Added a new 5 leaf spring pack to rear axle on both sides to increase payload capacity 1200 pounds on each side. (2 more than stock)
- Added Hellwig big wig airbags with wireless Air controller to set airbags remotely and independently
- Added hellwig Anti-sway bar front and rear.
- Replaced all u-joints with lifetime warranty Moog components in 2022
- Added Fumoto valve to easily drain engine oil. (IF YOU KNOW YOU KNOW!)
- Upgraded the stock headlights to a new 2005 and up clear housing style and high end LED bulbs. Are very bright!
- Added a 40in C series KC Hilites light bar.
- Installed a 6 switch LED control panel on the dash to toggle on and off the 40in light bar
- Did a paint correction , cut, polish, buff, and ceramic coating in 2022 of the entire cab. Has some small chips around the wheel wells and door kick panels as to be expected but overall very very nice.
- Upgraded to the 2005+ square style dual mirrors.
- Has a dashcam on rearview mirror and wires ran towards back of truck for a backup camera if you want to add that for a few bucks.
- Two new Duralast Gold batteries in 2024
- BFG All Terrain tires. The spare tire is alloy rim to match the other alloy rear just didn’t get a chance to swap it for the steel wheel that’s on passenger rear now.
- Has Redhead Gear box steering upgrade
- Full coolant system flush in 2021
- Transmission fluid change at mileage: 475,080

  • Always used Rotella T6 fully synthetic engine oil, changed the oil myself every 7,500 miles.
  • Has a Curt 20,000 pound commercial 2.5in hitch with a triple receiver design for a dirtbike rack if you’d like to put one on like we did. More so as protection for the rear boxes, I left the torquelift tie-down bars coming off the hitch so that it would protect the rear boxes if you were offroading and clearance became an issue. It never was a problem but figured I’d leave them for that purpose.
  • Flatbed boxes all have keys




To do list:

Inner axle seal has slow leak. I have the Dana seals to give to new owner just hadnt had time to install.
That’s it on the list.

Conclusion:

The reason we are selling is because we became too heavy for this truck after accumulating too much stuff in our truck camper and broke a leaf spring perch bolt. I replaced the bolts with grade 10 hardware and it’s all perfectly functional and won’t be a problem for the new owner, but just wanted to mention. The steering wheel is worn down so I put a cover over it. The windshield is cracked in the pictures but we replaced it since taking those pictures. This truck is perfectly setup for someone who has a truck camper in the 2500-4000 pound range and who is looking to be able to just slide the camper in and GO. Truck drives really nice with a little weight in the back.

I hope that this truck can find a home with someone who intends to use it as I designed it: to comfortably haul a slide-in truck-camper. The choice upgrades like the dual alternator charging capability and the bed box storage, plus a clean and functional interior make this a solid turnkey truck platform where all the upgrades have been done for you. I have spent thousands of $ to install these components and build out this truck. The motor has hundred of thousands of miles left.

Included in the sale are a box of miscellaneous parts for the truck including a spare airbag, brackets and fog lights.
