Well fellas I sold Vatonka last summer, kids are off to college and I had so much invested in Vatonka that I decided to sell and take the profit to build something smaller for the wife and I.

Vatonka in all it's glory 

I was fortunate to score a one owner 2004 TRD Supercharged Tacoma for under 10k ! Score  it was owned by some local granolies that cycled all over the pnw and had never been off-roaded.

No name as of yet

*Build plans*

Keeping this one mild lol since it won't see any hardcore wheeling, needed for hunting, fishing , camping excursions nothing to crazy.

1. Ordered a 2.5" Rough country leveling lift with new struts (not spaced)

2. Already got rid of the ugly 18" wheels and purchased some nice 16" Ultra's with 31" Toyo AT 2's

3. Just scored a 2007 Panther Cascade Slide in camper and have a driver picking it up today! It's a simple nothing fancy slide in that's manufactured here in WA state, no bathroom or cooking just simple sleeping quarters for two.
*Wight 610 lbs and only $2800.00
Planning to install a roof mounted AC unit, fridge/freezer and call it done!

4. Batwing awning

5. Rear Aluminess Bumper w/tire carrier and Box

6.
Front bumper...not sure which as of now but it will have a Winch of course.

Now the main reason I decided on this camper setup was because I actually also purchased a 2017 Limited Tacoma for the wife, so when she's tired of her truck (hopefully in 3-4yrs) I'll be able to transfer everything over to it lol

Ok the camper has arrived! I think it will be just what the wife and I need, but as usual I've already started thinking about modifing the interior. I'll post pics and drawings of my kitchen setup idea soon but 1st I need to get the camper on the truck.

@steelheadbum what is your MPG's with the camper on? I am running a similar camper and am curious what you are pulling. I average somewhere between 13.5 and 15 mpg.....

Took the truck up yesterday afternoon to see how the suspension handled the additional weight. It was a great afternoon and the truck handled the weight very well, the supercharged engine definitely makes a difference.

I drove 115 miles round-trip, starting at an elevation of 1,066 and went up to 5,430 then back again, and used only 1/4 tank of fuel.

Wonderful afternoon with my baby girl

Ordered a set of weather tech mats and a TF51 fridge today!
Made some changes to the bed platform in the camper, planning to mount fridge on the driver's side.

The camper seems to be well built but the original layout made no sense to me. There are two 26"x76" hinged cushions that fold up on both sides but no center section supports and the table is small and useless.

I decided to remove the table and driver side cushion all together and install cross member supports for 3 2x8's that can be removed when not in use. The 2x8's will be painted black and held in place by retaining straps below the passenger cushion.

The front supports are stored in the secondary battery box for now

Now the driver's side cushion will double as a back support for the bench seat when not in use

It really opened up the space! My new truck fridge with sit upfront near the plug outlet
