Okay, now I like it even more with the hidden hitch. There's a lot I could do with that spare tire area under the bed freed up... Was this made by Brute Force?

Yes. Brute force fab made it. Cut you a good deal of you want it.

Ha, well I'd love it for sure and will continue kicking myself eternally for not jumping on it. If it doesn't sell quickly I'll have to think a lot more seriously about it.

If you haven't sold it yet, I'm in the market. I'm in Morro Bay, so I could drive out and pick it up. I planned on ordering a front bumper from Brute Force anyway.
I tried to send a pm but your inbox was full.

Thanks,
Paul

Rear bumper is sold. New one will be built soon. Till than I want to do some more mods to the tundra before my next trip to moab this year in June.

I wanna regear and add an ARB rear locker. Honestly I could do without the locker but if I'm gonna regear I rather do it all in one shot.
Still can't decided what gearing to go with my 265/75r16 (32) and don't plan to go bigger. Well maybe 33-34 lol. I want to be overgeared just a tad.
I been trying to figure out what other Toyota I can steal front and rear diff from to try 4.10
If anyone knows what years Toyota I can do this from. Let me know.
Looks like 1st gen taco and 3rd gen runner uses the same front diff as the tundra
The rear looks like it would have to be from 1st gen taco non locking diff and maybe 2nd gen taco non locking diff??

Also my front bilstiens 5100 with factory springs set at 1.3 lift is starting to feel the weight of the bumper and use. The coils seem to be compressed more than when I 1st did the mod. I'm gonna set the 5100 to 2.5 lift and see how I like the lift and will most likely be ordering KING OEM performance coilovers.
The rear is still in the air. Really want to do a bolt on lift and wish OME had something I could use. Gonna ditch the 1inch block and go with wheelers 3leaf progressive kit.

I also picked up an OR FAB skid plate mainly to protect my cats from getting stolen since it happens often in my city. I need to see about getting a better built front skid and transfer case skid soon

The tundra rear diff is definitely shared by sequoias, tacos, runners and FJ's. As far as getting, I recommend 4.56's. I'll find out about those 4.10's after I do some research.

I just got done installing my ARB air locker. After my Detroit decided to take a tank. The cap bolts had backed out shearing 4 out of 8 of them. The other 4 were also loose. This caused damaged to the Detroit internals.

Only thing left to do is run the airline and figure out how I'm going to integrate an air tank within the bed walls. There's so much unused space. I don't plan on using a traditional air tank.

^What Mike said.
To expand on that, a non-TRD 1st Gen Tacoma (95.5-04) and 1st Gen Sequoias (2000-06) will have the same front AND rear diff as your Tundra.
Non-TRD 2nd Gen Tacomas and ALL T100s have the same rear (NOT front) "8.4" as its commonly referred to, same as your Tundra.
3rd Gen 4Runners (96-02) have the same front diff (NOT rear).

Maybe go with 4.30? 4.56 might be too low? Rickashay runs 4.56 and 35s...

Sweet skid!!

I think you are right on all but the 4Runner and FJ. They both use standard 8 inch rear diff. I don't think any 4th gen and up runner or any FJ cruiser or 2nd gen taco front diff will work on my tundra. They use a different clamshell

Awesome info. If I can find a set of 4.10 from a part out. I could alteast try 4.10 for less than $300 maybe lol. 4.30 maybe harder to find but I see those. I try 4.30 and try them. If it works out. I just need to add arb to the rear and hope to be front and rear regear for less than $1300. Already have oba but really thinking of doing an independent arb pump for it in order to keep the warranty.

When searching for my diffs I used Car-Part.com a lot. Gave me a good idea what to look for. (Years, transmission, drive, tow package).

Here's a front one: http://www.panjo.com/buy/1-4-101-7-5-toyota-ifs-third-member-chunk-130-shipped-137850?index=17 It's been up for sale for a while though.

That diff won't work, it's an 86-95 early IFS front. Same ring gear size and some lockers/LSDs are compatible but the gear rotation is opposite and case is different.

I was using similar sites and getting mix info lol.

That won't work. Well it does for my 1gen runner not so much tundra. The ifs diff changed to a clamshell in the newer toyotas.

Need to research more but I am leaning for RADFLO coilovers. Just need to figure out if I want 600-650-700 springs. Wish there was more info on tundra stuff. With $$$ going into the front. The 3leaf progressive AAL may not match the front. Or I just need nicer rear shocks but don't know if shocks alone will give a better ride and perform

Most CDN spec 1st Gen Tacoma's and 3rd Gen 4Runners came with the 4.30 diffs. Not sure why but even my SR5 4Runner had 4.30 and so did everyone I looked at when searching for that truck. Strange considering most SR5 Tacoma and 4Runners in the US have 4.10's. My reasoning here is maybe look on car-part in Canada. With the exchange rate right now you US guys should be able to find some killer deals. I know lots of Americans are buying Canadian vehciles right now and importing them to the US as it's virtually a 40% discount. Use car parts might be the same. Just an idea...

Go 700lb coils. I have 650lb coils and no winch bumper or winch and it's too soft. I have 700lb springs waiting for me to get them installed. With your setup, 700lb all the way. Ask sean_pistol as he is running that same setup.

The rear Fox shocks I have are perfect IMO. Fairly cheap and bolt right in. Increased droop and work if you haven't touched your factory bumpstops yet.

Here's some info to start. Don't have the specifics for each of the models

Rear 8.4" diff with 4.10 gears:
TOYOTA SEQUOIA (2001 - 2006)
TOYOTA T100 (1993 - 1998)
TOYOTA TACOMA (1995 - 2013)
TOYOTA TUNDRA (2000 - 2006)

Front diff... I'm still researching.
