I know for a fact that 4x4 T100's 95-98 with the manual transmission got 4.10, and automatics got 4.30. Not sure about 2wd, but an auto with a tow package probably does. I always asked for VINs from vehicles and called the dealership to see what was originally installed from the factory.

Most CDN spec 1st Gen Tacoma's and 3rd Gen 4Runners came with the 4.30 diffs. Not sure why but even my SR5 4Runner had 4.30 and so did everyone I looked at when searching for that truck. Strange considering most SR5 Tacoma and 4Runners in the US have 4.10's. My reasoning here is maybe look on car-part in Canada. With the exchange rate right now you US guys should be able to find some killer deals. I know lots of Americans are buying Canadian vehciles right now and importing them to the US as it's virtually a 40% discount. Use car parts might be the same. Just an idea...

Go 700lb coils. I have 650lb coils and no winch bumper or winch and it's too soft. I have 700lb springs waiting for me to get them installed. With your setup, 700lb all the way. Ask sean_pistol as he is running that same setup.

The rear Fox shocks I have are perfect IMO. Fairly cheap and bolt right in. Increased droop and work if you haven't touched your factory bumpstops yet.

How are the vehicles in Canada? Like rust wise. I don't want a diff covered with surface rust lol.

I seen that Sean say 700 lbs was the magic number. I need to check with him to see if it still allow him to cycle the entire travel mainly full compression on to the bumps without having the truck lean so much. Unsure how to put this. Lol.

What is the part number and where to buy the fox shocks? Irrc you have 3 leaf progressive springs?? How did it ride? I know you probably don't have as much weight in the rear but I like to keep it riding pretty smooth like stock wise.

Here's some info to start. Don't have the specifics for each of the models

Rear 8.4" diff with 4.10 gears:
TOYOTASEQUOIA(2001 - 2006)
TOYOTAT100(1993 - 1998)
TOYOTATACOMA(1995 - 2013)
TOYOTATUNDRA(2000 - 2006)

Front diff... I'm still researching.

Perfect. Some good info. One thing to know is that only non locking tacos rear diff will work.

T-100 are so rare around here lol. I was looking to get a 2wd t-100 lowered for a daily a while back lol. But I'll keep my eyes out

Love the quick and awesome info. Hope to get some more building mods done before moab. Just need $$$ and like to do the mods once.

Need to research more but I am leaning for RADFLO coilovers. Just need to figure out if I want 600-650-700 springs. Wish there was more info on tundra stuff. With $$$ going into the front. The 3leaf progressive AAL may not match the front. Or I just need nicer rear shocks but don't know if shocks alone will give a better ride and perform

FYI I am running Radflo coilovers up front (700# after running 600's briefly) and custom Radflo resi's in back with Alcans. The Radflo's are killer, all these coilovers (Fox, Radflo, Icon etc) have some little quirks but I have been very happy with my setup. If you have any questions shoot me a PM.

X3 or so go for the 700# springs. With skidplates, sliders ,arb bumper and winch they are on the border of not being enough on my DC.

This is awesome. Did know if anyone actually ran radflo on a 1st gen.
I'm pretty set on radflo 1st and icon 2nd. No king or fox.

Do you have any pictures of them installed and can you full compresses the spring (flex out) without it look like the truck is gonna flip over lol. Pictures of them flexed out??

Thanks for the car parts website. I might be using that site and pull the trigger on a rear 430 diff to try. If it works out. I'll be looking for a 430 front. Than see about locking the rear with arb

I don't have any good pics of it fully flexed out but I have been wanting to take some...

I have been nothing but impressed with the flex of the truck and no I've never felt like the rig is just going to flop. The Alcans are incredible and I have had numerous friends wheel with me and comment on just how well the rear moves. I went back and forth a lot in the planning and the Radflo techs really addressed my questions better than all the rest. I also really agreed with not running extras that I don't need, the Icon guys really were pushing resi coilovers and I just don't run that kind of terrain. I only run resi's in the rear because it gained me the greatest travel numbers. Overall I couldn't be happier with the setup, they made some interesting noises as they settled into the rig but they are pretty flawless now.

What tire size do 1st Gen Tundras come stock with? 31.5? (265/70r16)? And is stock gearing 3.91? If so:
I just ran the numbers in the calculator and the spot on gear ratio would be 4.10 with 33s, based on the stock gear ratio and tire size (31.5").
BUT, a 4.30 ratio would be performance gearing with 33s, again based on the stock ratio and tire size. I'm overgeared about the same and I LOVE it compared to stock gearing. Go 4.30 :smiley_drive:

I called around for pricing and was told in order to get extended travel RADFLO I needed to get it with Resi

I'm actually running 265/75r16 which is only a tad taller at 32inch. I too rather be over geared anyways and room to grow into 33 if I ever make that jump. My 1st gen runner v6 auto is on 32s and 4.88. Love being over geared lol.

FYI I talked to and bought directly from Radflo, I mostly dealt with Mike. They offer both the standard coilover and the extended coilover without a resi. My understanding from our discussions was that the resi on these only adds oil capacity it does not change the internal structural components of the coilover and therefore doesn't increase travel. I have wheeled with a few rigs on front resi coilovers and yes the added oil capacity does keep things cool on long fast washboard/baja terrain etc... I primarily wheel high mountain roads, rocks, mud and the like. I also didn't like any mounting I have seen of front resi's on our trucks: there is already very little space for my tires up front and I will likely need to chop out more room soon. Resi's getting stuffed up there, for me, was one more thing to hit/break and an added expense with no real gain in my eyes.

Yeah. I don't want the Resi as well for all the reasons you didn't get it

Been wanting to get rid of my one inch block and the rear and also do a u bolt flip kit. Also extended the rear proportioning valve.
Have seeing Rickashay working on his rear end motivated me to get working on mine. Ordered wheelers 3 lead progressive AAL few days ago and just installed them last night.
It hardly changed the height compared to the block I had. Maybe a tad taller but spring could still settle.
Ride is a tad firmer in a good way but I haven't drove it that much. It isn't as plush when going over speed bumps at speed. Than again Im basically comparing to my pervious stock spring rate with a block that doesn't change ride quality.
Another thing to note is I don't have a rear bumper or any real weight in the rear. Hope once I do. It rides firm but plush at the same time.

Is that the Marlin flip kit? What are your plans for the bump stop?

Brute force fab cut out some 1/2 plate and he has some monster 5/8 u bolts. I have to check where he got them if you wanted to know. It's a kit he makes for taco guys.

Debating if I want to reinstall the factory bump on the plate and just weld it in place or look into some nicer bumpers that would compress easier.

Need to flex out my rear end and figure out what replacement shocks would give me the most travel.
