I have 32s but they only rub the frame at full lock and bump. Never had them contact the wheel well like that

Yeah My rub is at bump and locked. Which I see often when off-roading. Do mild rock crawling in this thing

I'm sure wheel backspace has a lot to do with how much and where the tires will rub.

Well I have FJ80 rims with 1.25 wheel spacers. If I remove the wheel spacers. Still won't change the rub. I guess I could take the spacer out and check.
I know anyone with 32 or larger no matter what backspacing is rubbing at bump and lock.

I guess to most they don't see bump and lock but I do and hate it. It limits wheel travel as well. Hopefully I get the holes filled tomorrow. No good at welding thin metal. Ekk

I have zero rub with my 255's on stock wheels. I can't believe you rub that much, what do your caster numbers look like?

It's the wheel spacers. I'm in the same boat on a different rig.
The spacers increase your scrub radius. So basically your tires will eat your fenders more with them on.

My 255s rub the frame at lock/stuff. I had to add wheel spacers to clear there. I was able to adjust the cab rubbing out by adjusting caster on my upper and lower arms. I have SPC uppers to dial in caster and camber. The best way to check for this is to cycle the suspension without the coil-over in.

I hate rubbing and that was the main motivator to go with 255's. I see you have 33's where as mine are only 32's so that's probably part of it too. I've fully flexed and turned lock to lock testing both sides without issue. My SPC uppers are being delivered today hopefully.

I have like +3 caster when I did my alignment and it still rubs. Oh well. I already cut two big holes in the body. I barely welded up one side. A lot harder than I thought since you have to form and shape the new metal to con cave in as well. More photos on this later when I'm done. Excuse the poor welds. Thin metal sucks lol.

So this morning I went my buddies shop to swap the 650 springs out for 700lbs springs. Wow those suckers took some force on the machine to compress 2 inches. I set the preload right around 2 1/4 inch. Sean got back o me and said he has his at 2.15". So I should be right in the ball park. If anything I wanted more preload set with spring compressor so it be easier to back off the reload later.

You compressor the spring Enough to back the adjuster all the way off. Than you go to the cup/bottom of shocks and push up on the cup and it will expose the two part ring held on by a rubber o ring. Once it's all removed. You can take the spring out the bottom. I compressed the new spring on the compressor and adjusted the preload by hand hehe.

Haha they are some sexy coilovers. I set the preload to 1.9 inch and it's still a tad to talk for me. I know once I get a rear bumper and weight back on to see how level it is.
The adjusters are pretty sweet. I have low speed at the lowest setting and high speed at 2nd to lowest setting. Rides smooth and handles bumps well. Haven't flexed it all out yet but it flexes smoothly

Is the spindle contacting the spring at droop? May wanna consider some limit straps for the front, just for peace of mind... I never air my truck out, but with the new shocks I swapped in, my droop limiter is the frame on the upper control arm; no bueno. I plan to throw some limit straps on it just for my own comfort. The pair cost less than a new balljoint, and an hour and a welder and I'll have them installed.

Truck looks awesome. Between you 3 guys you're really making me want a Tundra instead of a Tacoma...

Looking great Jose! Those adjusters are sweet, but honestly Fox needs to design some kind of remote in-cab adjusters.. now that would be dope.

Side note, how did you tint your headlights?

They are not hitting even when drooped more than what fox is fully extended. With my factory LCA and Camburg UCA they actually droop ~1/4" more than fox fully extended so I say fox nailed the extended length.

I was looking at tacos and they went 3-6k more with more mileage. So I checked out the tundras that was only a tad bigger but the v8 make more sense for expo guys imo with all the weight we add lol. The biggest selling point for the tundra is that they are low mileage or hardly ever abused since they are more mall crawlers than true off road rigs. At least around here. Which is good. Gave me an option to have a clean starting point

Haha yeah be sweet to have remote control via dash controls. When I was lowering my cars in high school. Teins actually makes coilovers with in cab adjustments. They installed solenoids on the adjusters. So I can see this possible.

Retrofit projector headlights and gunmetal painted reflectors was done via Rickashey. He did an awesome job. I love them.

Very tastefully done, I love this truck!

Thank you. I been enjoying the build. Hoping to regear and arb the rear later this year if not next.

Pic made it look like it was contacting. Carry on.

Same size and v8 is the big seller for me. Great rig.
