I am a long time subscriber to Advrider.com and have van for sale there as well as documented the build on that site, another "inmate" suggested this site and after viewing it it seems like a great site and the correct place to advertise it in. I look forward to perusing all these pages.

Only reason I am selling is that I want to build something a little different this time and have it as a trailer.

Motovan

Took some more pics of interior tonight.

Color of cabinets is correct in this photo, other pictures are yellowed because I had the LED cove lights on I guess.

Fold down jump seat.

These cabinets hold some gear, 2 chairs, broom, sleeping bags, blankets, street clothes.

Front cabinet holds all my MX gear, 2 helmets, boots, knee braces, 2 neck braces as well as the fused switch panel and LED reading light for when you are in bed.

Bed down, Mattress is memory foam and very comfortable. Cover is Sunbrella fabric and there is a zipper to remove it to be washed.

20150817_193014-M.jpg

Water tank, pump and battery are all mounted below bed, there is extra storage there as well. When plugged into shore power the battery gets charged and you have 110 outlets inside

20150817_193736_HDR-M.jpg

Battery and charger. Battery lasts for days, I have spent 3 days in it and still had 12v in battery when checked.

20150817_193705_HDR-M.jpg

Water tank is good for 4-5 showers, pump gives great pressure.

20150817_193722_HDR-M.jpg

Water tank is exposed in rear so you can see what the water level is. Hose is quick disconnect to hook up to shower or you can just use as a hose.

20150817_193518_HDR-M.jpg

Shower is a Eco-Temp unit in stainless steel enclosure, mounted above propane tank and with a fuel can holder (fuel jug is included :))

Door mounted tool cabinet with fold down work table.

Roof was cut out and curb bent up for water proof fit, no leaks in a year of driving and snow sitting on it all winter.

The awning started as a picture that I saw of a wood awning on a Land Rover and then theses sketches

I wanted to make sure it was strong, kind of went over board on this.....

I reinforced the inside of the raised roof to support it

20140830_124556-M.jpg

My lovely wife pretty much hated me after all the sewing she had to do on the Sunbrella fabric.

20140902_201306-M.jpg

But she is still here after 30+ years so....

20140905_190008-M.jpg

Even made me the bag that holds it with nice Velcro!

Really works better than I had even hoped.

The original plan for the bed was to use this frame that I had made up for a trailer I had done before, worked good in trailer and allowed for a 4" mattress.

20140920_131359-M.jpg

The wood legs are just for a mock up

20140920_131521-M.jpg

Problem was that it didn't fold up tight to wall so thought it would be better to come up with a different plan.

20140920_133136-M.jpg

I had this 2" pipe left over from the awning which I thought would be perfect.

20141027_191242-M.jpg

I didn't want the outside corners to be sharp, I could feel the pain in my shins before I even started to build it. So made up a mock up for angles.

20141027_194719-M.jpg

20141027_200908-M.jpg

All welded and cleaned up.

20141028_193953-M.jpg

Welded the hinges on, I had installed a backer board on van before closing the walls up so I could screw in anywhere along that height.

20141028_194909-M.jpg

20140922_172302-M.jpg

Test fit,

20141029_193828-M.jpg

20141029_194550-M.jpg

I welded tabs on to support the 5/8 Plywood(Zipwall) as the base.

20141101_100345-M.jpg

And covered the bottom with carpet to match the rest of the interior, all glued on with 3M adhesive with the edges rolled over and stapled down.

20141101_102208-M.jpg

20141101_110236-M.jpg

The foam is 2" Lux foam with batting on top, very comfortable....

Legs are super simple and fool proof. When the bed is up they hang straight down and when in the down position they just go over center a bit so lock in place.

20141101_142814-M.jpg

20141101_145532-M.jpg

And.....got to have a headboard so your pillow doesn't fall of the end of the bed so I made a detachable one.
