Mild overland build that strikes a great balance between on road comfort and off road capability. It’s been a very comfortable, solid, reliable vehicle for many family adventures over the last 10 years.
Here are some highlights of the build:
- 2-3 person Tepui RTT with vestibule
- Custom rear cargo setup with ARB (50qt) refrigerator/freezer on slide-out; can also be setup as a sleeping platform for 1 person; separate locking compartments that are accessed from behind the rear seats
- Gamiviti full length roof rack
- ARB awning (2000x2500)
- Dual battery setup with 100 amp-hour deep cycle battery and switch for isolating the 2nd battery from the starting battery
- Upgraded HID headlights
- AHC removed and replaced with Old Man Emu torsion bars and coils (medium)—approx 2” lift over stock height
- Ride Rite airbags in the rear for increased/adjustable load capacity
- Ironman 4x4 Foam Cell shocks front/rear
Recent maintenance performed:
- Alternator rebuilt at 175,000 miles
- The well-known heater Tee problem was fixed at 177,000 miles
- 215,000 miles: timing belt, H2O pump, serpentine belt
- 216,000 miles: Steering rack bushing replaced
- 226,000 miles: Replaced front wheel bearings/races/seals, replaced tie-rod boots L&R, replaced driver side CV boots (inner and outer)
- 243,000 miles: Replaced front brake pads
- 249,000 miles: Replaced air filter, spark plugs, upper/lower radiator hoses, radiator fan clutch and engine coolant. Checked valve clearance
- Engine oil, air filter and partial drain/refill of AT fluid has been done on a regular basis
- Front driver seat leather is torn on bottom cushion—both front seats have seat covers on them
- The body has some imperfections due to a string of bad luck in parking lots
- Minor leak in the steering rack. It started shortly after I purchased the vehicle and it hasn’t gotten noticeably worse over the years. I’ve probably topped off the fluid twice in 9 years
- Sunroof was acting up (it didn’t want to close completely), once I got it to close, I disabled it by pulling the fuse
- The sound system subwoofer stopped working. All speakers could stand to be upgraded
Includes the following spare parts:
- OEM Denso fuel pump-new
- 3 OEM coil packs-new
- Toyota air filter
