You can get the dash cover off without dropping the steering column and removing the shifter and tilt leavers.

You have to very careful with the thin strip of the cover that goes beneath the gauges.

Do you have a video to reference?

These cleats will be mounted to the bottom of the new seats and secure into the factory slots. We are mounting 1x3 steel to the tops and then attaching the seat bases to the 1x3. I still haven’t solved for the rear bench yet.

After I set the seat configuration and adjusted them for “leg room” comfort, I pulled some wires through the ceiling panel from the front to the rear. This included a 3-wire extension cord, a positive, a negative, and a yellow video cable for the back up camera. Also added a few new rear speakers with baffles.

Next there is the business of the “strobe” switch on my panel. The switch works but it’s broken. So I plan to replace it. I wanted to know where it went. So I tracked the wires down. Apparently there was a strobe light on the rear of the roof for safety; this van did service time on the PA Turnpike I found out. So I added a handy backup light. I had this 12” bar. I mounted it in the step area. I think this should be out of the way. I don’t need the step to get in the van.

Got my dash apart. What a nightmare. I must’ve watched 30 videos. They were all different, making me worry this was a huge deal. Well I cracked a piece pulling it around the shifter. So my suggestion would be drop the column or remove the shifter. Just my $0.02.

Got the radio installed and got the back up camera working. Also wired the light. But now I also want to wire it to the reverse light too so that way I can turn it on and it can also turn on when the rear backup light kicks on.

Tuesday I’m putting the dash back together. Just gotta drop the 6-pack wire harness in the dash. It’s like an S-pod. I will take some pics and show a better explanation in my next write up.

Pics will be posted tomorrow.
