2010 FUSO Canter 4x4 What spare parts do you carry on your over land trips including heading to other countries?

Good afternoon I'm slowly building up my FUSO 4X4 and I am always worried when heading across borders when it comes to parts, supplies and tools I may need for the truck; especially truck specific tools.

Right now I carry;
Tools: High lift, torque wrench, breaker bar, 5' pipe (Cheater bar), drill, drill bits, screw driver, Allen keys, sockets, crescent wrench, impact, tire repair kit, air pump, angle grinder, Diagnostic computer reader / code reset, volt meter, wire cutters, electrical connector crimps, vise grips, hammer, 2" ratchet straps

Supplies: Motor oil, gear oil, radiator stop leak, tire goo, brake fluid, liquid wrench, wire, electrical connectors, heat shrink, fuses, muffler tape, muffler putty, tapes of every sort, lock tight, nuts, blots, washers

Parts: Oil filter, gas filter

Recovery: 15,000lb hydraulic winch, shackles, tow straps, snatch block, shovel

What items do you guys carry?

Thanks for your help.

all of the above, less hi-lift (I think they are unsafe), plus

hydraulic and scissor jacks (I'd love one of those old Holden low profile mechanical bottle jacks,

lots of different tapes, duct tape, cloth tape, tennis court tape, VHB double sided tape, insulating tape, ptfe tape, self amalgamating tape, heat shrink tube, etc.

large size sockets as well as standard, 1/2 and 1/4" drive.

loctite, RTV, WD40,

torque wrench,

thin welding rod and jumper leads,

10mm and 8mm threaded rod and nuts, collection of standard nuts bolts washers, pop rivets and rivetter,

length of pipe that's the right diameter for removing king pin bearings, diy tool for removing front pin on rear springs,

"fan" belts,

long list of oil and fuel filter equivalents (standard threads and seals, different size filters), I don't carry engine oil (no room/I keep the weight below 4.5mt)

no insurance spares, as much info about the vehicle as I can on computer, and phone number of parts/service in home town (they are not as international as we think and Mercedes in Germany don't/won't provide manuals from one country to another country - part numbers are like gold.

I put a camper on my Fuso...and then bought a second Fuso to haul both of them.

PS some webbing ratchet straps of a couple of widths/loads. A really big one for if a main leaf in spring breaks between axle and front pin. Little ones for all sorts.

Just a standard code reader / reset
That is interesting, because as far as I know the data output from a Fuso is not OBDII compliant.
This topic has been discussed at length on this forum over the years, so I would be interested in knowing which specific reader you are using.
Do you have any links to a product page for the reader you have?

rule number 1: you will never have with you what you need :)

That’s why I don’t carry a spare in my cars. Originally from drag racing days, but the one car that kept its spare would always have flat tires, now I remove them store it with the off season tire and never got a flat since.

In addition to what folks have already listed, I carry spare sets of wheel bearings (pre-lubed and vacuum sealed), & spare lug nuts/studs

PPS a couple of lengths of 50x3mm steel strip. With small U-bolts, useful for clamping things - last time I broke a spring main leaf behind the axle, good for 1,000km at 10 km/hr ..... did I mention hacksaw?

I've noticed that what I carry depends on the country and the length of the journey. 6 months in Australia is different to 3 years across Asia. If nothing else there's always some #8 wire near at hand in Aus, but there are few fences in Mongolia. I suspect the trick is to carry bits and pieces with multiple uses.

I"ll take a look for info on the Reader... Not sure it will work for everything but so far it has shown me the errors and when i snapped my exhaust pipe off my DEF system and truck went into limp mode i was able to reset and carry on and that's the main reason i have it is for resetting code to get the truck back running.
