2011 F350 tow pig/ family wheeler

Sold my 2005 Chevy 2500hd to move up to a larger 1-ton tow pig. So yesterday we picked up a new to me 2011 F350 Lariat 6.7 powerstroke 4wd with locking rear diff. Has 84k on the clock with leather butt warms and coolers.

Here is the reason we upgraded

My wife and I have decided to take on a new adventure. With our impending transfer to Clearwater Fl this summer (new duty station at air station Clearwater) we chose to go a little different with our housing situation. Downsizing is a little scary but we are excited for a new chapter in our lives. Please follow along with this build to out fit the truck for better towing and more capability off-road.

Nice truck! I remember yout Tacoma from TW. Let me know if you need any info on Clearwater. I lived there for 30 years before moving to Utah in 2006. I go back often since my siblings are there.

Spent all day yesterday removing some corrosion from below the doors and under the cab. I also installed the goose neck hitch that we will be using in conjunction with our Andersen 5th wheel hitch adapter.

Had to remove the bed liner. I plan on doing a raptor spray in liner.

Then I gave her a little wash.

With the cross country trip in the next couple of weeks i added a couple things.
Firestone RideRite extreme duty air bags

Also for a piece mind while I'm towing heavy loads I picked up a Banks iDash 1.8 monitor. I can keep an eye on my EGTs

And to be able to fill tires Viair 450p RV

Our final week in San Diego is here! And of course one more thing popped up before we leave. I had a DEF heater code pop up. Even though I plan on hitting a big speed bump and have some stuff fall off of the truck once I get to Clearwater, I didn't want to go into limo mode while towing the trailer. So out with the old and in with a new one.

I also added a S&B cold air intake, as well as changed the oil and trans fluid. She is all ready to go for the trek cross country. All that is left to do is hook up and go.
