2012 F 150 Platinum

My wife urged me to sell my Cherokee and buy something more appropriate for my age and for working in an office. I sold the Jeep to a friend who is giving it TLC.

I bought this Platinum on October 31st, 2016, and haven't changed a thing except for adding a tonneau. This fall, I'll have to replace the tires and plan on BFG ATs. I love the crisp handling of the 20 inch wheels, but feel they are very vulnerable to damage due to the small sidewall of the stock tires. In fact, one wheel cracked during an ice storm when a curb that was hiding under snow jumped out and hit my wheel ;)

I'm considering selling the 20s, and going with 17s, but hate to break up the Platinum package. Maybe I'll keep the 20s for snow tires.

I got a great deal on this truck and it is pretty well loaded, quiet and comfortable. Because I hope to toe a trailer with it one day, I probably won't upsize the tires, and don't want to pay for regearing it like I did the Cherokee.

The Ecoboost is very strong over the mountain passes here in Colorado and should get me to some nice fishing spots this summer.

Very nice truck. Should make a good travel rig in stock form. I'd say throw some 33s on it even if you keep it relatively stock. They will fit easily and won't affect performance much at all. I didn't really notice a difference on my rig.

Great looking truck. You can find plenty of stock 18" wheels on Craigslist for fairly cheap. Mine's pretty stock, with the exception of 33's and tonneau cover. Ecoboost is definitely nice, especially at elevation.
