Please tell me you had to use your spell check to get periwinkle right and that you didn't have that committed to memory.

Mike (washington taco) educated me how to differentiate between periwinkle and purple... he's very sensitive about that :ylsmoke:

Thanks Dave, between you and Louis I wont live it down!

Sorry Mike :sombrero:

I was really hoping that article would contain something like "2012 Tacoma to come with a 35 mpg engine, bigger payload capacity and solid front axle :wings:" but alas, it's not to be. Engine power isn't a big deal for me, I'm more interested in fuel economy so that I don't have to carry as much extra. It seems to me like they're following the same playbook as the 1st gen Tacoma with minor cosmetic and mechanical changes from year to year. Can't say that I love the 2nd gen trucks, can't say that I hate them, the new front end look doesn't sway me in either direction.

And Mike, a diesel would be nice, but I think I'd wait til after 2014 to see how bad the price gets hiked up. That's when new MARPOL regulations are going to kick in requiring all ships within 200 miles of any coastline to meet new emissions standards. The easiest way for most ships to do this is to switch from the intermediate fuel oil they're using now to diesel. Many ships running the heavier fuel oils already switch to diesel when maneuvering into and out of port, but this new requirement will likely triple or quadruple the amount of diesel ships need to carry. The ship I'm on now will likely have to stop using IFO all together since we're never more than 200 miles off. We use about 4000 barrels a week, and we're just one of thousands of ships calling on the west coast of the US.
