2013 Silverado 1500 Build Thread

Thanks Tiki! I actually emailed Cognito and got a response really quickly (within an hour or so!). They confirmed that I can run the stock wheels and tires with this setup but cautioned that 285s might rub. I'm thinking that means at full droop and lock so I'll try it out and see what happens. I also wanted to share that they cautioned me not to lift the front more than 2.5" for sake of the CVs, tie rods, and down travel.

I was looking at possibly getting the Icon delta joint UCAs but they're $350 more expensive and I can't really understand why

With the trucks you can rub multiple places depending on what wheel setup you go with: sway bar, UCA, rear fender, front fender. The wheel wells are not very forgiving.

I know this is going to be a hyper Necro-post, but I wanted to update for anyone who was looking for info on these trucks:

The steering and suspension components have held up perfectly to the years of abuse and the meaty 35s.

I did have to swap the rear axle, after the shop that did a bad job of setting up my 4.10 gears eventually grenaded the ring gear in normal traffic. I do not believe that this had anything to do with tires or strain, it seems like the backlash was set incorrectly, and made it into a ticking time bomb.

A 2008 Silverado 1500 9.5" ring gear 14 bolt axle bolts right up, and just needed a little rotating of assemblies to go right in. it is MUCH beefier than the factory 8.6 10 bolt axle, and comes with 4.10 gears and a G80 locker.

I switched to the MT Baja Boss A/T in 35x12.5R17s a couple of years ago, absolutely the best tire I have ever used.
If you have any questions about the build, or want any of the CAD files I made for the bumpers/sliders, please feel free to reach out.

I am starting to feel the age of my truck as shes getting a bit rusty with the typical chevy rot on the bed above the wheel wells, as well as cracking plastic, ect. I am also feeling the disadvantage of the short bed, as my family gets larger, and so do the projects. It looks like it might be time for a new truck, been looking at a 2500 ZR2. Anyone here have one?

Truck looks good, really like your back bumper design.
If I recall correctly Hot Rod Magazine did an LS engine intake comparison of intake manifolds from different aftermarket manufacturers vs. stock GM intakes.
Few if any as I recall were better than the stock truck manifold.
Pretty much the same with cams, one GM cam was better than the LM7 truck cam for power below 4400 rpm, but everything else including aftermarket all build power above 4500 rpm.
About all you can do to improve on them is less restrictive intake and less restrictive after cat exhaust.

I'm late to this thread but agree. They are engineered well and the reason there is so little aftermarket is that so little is "needed".
