The Evoque is a blast to drive, plain and simple. Not a true Land Rover, but drive 75mph during a blizzard at 9pm and you'll understand why we have one. I don't think there's another vehicle that's better in adverse conditions on the road.

Haha I understand that it's a very bold statement, but it is my opinion, and my experience. Other vehicles are too tall, other vehicles are too short. The wheelase, the length, the width, the height, all make this the ultimate ski mountain road cruising vehicle.

I had an Evoque as a loaner last winter. It just so happened we had severe snowstorms that week. I took it up and down the mountains all week. Copper, Beaver Creek, no problem. Countless cars in the ditch and the Evoque strolled on. I was impressed.

Driving 120 km/h in a blizzard... seems like a great idea.

Yes, because we all must live the same, safe n' all. Either way it was not me behind the wheel, though I would have carried the same clip.

Exactly, it's built so well for those situations. Wheel placement, Haldex vectoring, DSTC setting, it's quite ideal.

If only THIS was a production model maybe my heart would go up a half beat at the mere mention of the Evoque.

Looks like a lot of room for up travel there :)

What is that purpose built for? Snow racing?

I have called the local junkyard to come scrap these vehicles on your recommendation.

STI

S4

C4S

Those were the first three that came to mind with the letter S in the name.

Remind me to kick you in the nuts at Conclave.

I test-drove the Evoque a while ago for fun and while it's a capable vehicle for what it was aimed for (soccer mom demographic), that NAV system from Jaguar/Tata is terrible.

It was cumbersome and everything related to controls were dependent on it. It was frustrating.

I would love to see any of those vehicles in over 12" of snow on the road(you're not in Vermont enough)

and a C4S, really? REALLY? May as well put a Miata in there. I know 295 section width rear tires seem like a good idea on snow but....

Had an evoque with me out on the trail today. ETC wasn't working and I had to strap it out of a water crossing and then again up a simple hill climb. Without ETC that thing is just a fat assed saloon car and shouldn't be on the trail. He had no dash lights on and no way to know his ETC was not working until he was stuck in 18" of water and soft sand. Having to sit in water and then disassemble the front of the truck just to get to a towing eye to get a strap on it wasn't fun. Might be a good vehicle on the road but off road even on the basic stuff I am not a fan.
