love the bumper. Best part is the weight. I never saw an inboard mount for the winch tho, only exterior mount. only draw back for me. I need light mounting on my bumper so the winch needs to sit low.

The sliders are fine for anything other than rock crushing all day. I have seen the stockers take a beating.

cool. tell them to incorporate a internal mounted winch mount into that awesome front bumper. any rumors when the rear bumper and sliders are coming> I am probably going to use them as they are light weight which is what I want.

Just noticed they have a removable winch mount. I dig it. keep the weight down until you need it. Can you have a look at the MBRP/off camber light bar for the stock bumper and see if it would work with the pronghorn. If so, Its the bumper for me. I have the bar now, and like my lighting setup. just slide the winch in when needed. I noticed your bumper does not have the square hole for the winch mount, is it an option?

The square hole, was a hitch mount option of the prototype. It's no longer part of the design. Also, the structural design of the bumper that gives it's strength over leading steel bumpers prevents a sunk/internal winch mount.

Also, it looks like that MBRP bar squeezes in there and attaches to the frame. It looks like it will clear the Pronghorn in the C1 configuration. If you wanted to. If you're just looking to mount lights, though, there are plenty of light mounting holes to choose from built into the base section already.

I like how I have my lights now, I have a set of yellow hella fogs below my hella HID driving lights on the mbrp. and Like the look. It should work with the setup you have. So they don't have the removable winch mount anymore? bummer...

But the more I think about it, I have been wheeling for 4 years now and never needed one. hmmmm. Maybe not such a big deal.

They do have that, it's the GearMount. What they changed was the square hole hitch-mount that was on the prototype that was at Overland Expo last year. Their Gearmount is what allows the winch to be removable and that does not use the square hole hitch mount that you asked about. Hope that clears that up.

Going back in the thread a bit, but here's an option for storage. Kinda pricey and a little heavy but the Mac's Jeep Box is stout and a good option if you want to remove drawers every now and then. I just picked up a used one, it also pivots to allow access to the storage tub area.

You could use one of the flexible water tanks in there....however will get pretty warm from the muffler underneath.
Have seen compressors fitted there with ventilation holes above so that may work for you.

Rodi,

Will it contact with my lights? I am thinking it will. That's what I liked about the receiver mount.

Post a photo of how your lights sit, from the side. I don't think it will contact them. If you look at their site, the GearMount winch is initially at a 30-40 degree angle up. Once you lock it in place, the winch can be freed to rotate down until the line is spooled in. If your lights do not extend beyond the forward edge of the bumper, I think you'll be fine.

Aesthetically speaking though, it may better to sell that bar and just mount the lights onto the MFES.

Matt, sorry for getting off-topic here. Let's get back to the build.

Eventually I'll be adding a suspension lift and larger tires, so I've been a bit concerned with how quickly I'll be able to stop.

Since I'll be sticking with 17-inch wheels, Teraflex's big rotor kit looks like a great option! It keeps all of the factory calipers and abs, while giving me some additional braking capacity.

I'd rather not go with aftermarket calipers, as I'm not concerned with clamping force, more so the leverage of a larger tire.
