How are you liking the camper after having it for awhile? I’m thinking about getting the same model.

We like it a lot. Adventurer has great quality. However, we had another kid who is now 5 months old, and after two three days trips in the camper with 4 of us and a 70lb dog, we are upgrading to a trailer. Found a great little 17 foot trailer with an off road package and solar. We trade the camper in next week.

Looks great, should be a fun rig for your adventures!

Those brush deflectors are interesting, do they fully cover the hanging down bits from getting hit?

They do! They are only bolted in, but they have 4 bolts per mount and 8-12 bolts per “slider”. I may weld in a support, and may fully weld them in later. Also the fenders are all metal, which I like a lot.
It also currently has 265/75R16 tires, which I could upsize at a later date, but having real tires on it makes me feel much better with only one axle on it.

Yeh, don't end up like this trip we did last year!

My buddy hit a big rock in a stream crossing and his less than professionally built axle cracked... Out in the middle of nowhere so we had to take it off and drive it to town for repair.

Then when the other side broke a few days later we did some field repair from a farm truck & farmer that was nice enough to help us out!

Never skimp on running gear!

It's true that the trailer's not as nimble but it's a lot more comfortable.

We're looking into trailers between 19'-23' and the 199MBS Jayco (a few feet longer then yours) is on the list. That whole lineup looked pretty solid and It looked pretty easy to add some metal to the 'sliders' to make them more useful. Then you can take off the 'not a step' stickers. :) We're thinking we'd sleep in the bunks, pull out the bed and put in recliners. We're also thinking about a composting toilet so we can remove the black tank and the pipe under the trailer... But I digress.

I look forward to hearing how it works out for you.

So far it’s great! On our third trip with it now. The trailer has seen about 50 miles on single track gravel roads in eastern oregon and did great. One drawer bottom fell out, but a little wood glue and screw later, it’s better than new. We are headed to twin falls Idaho and then back through southern Oregon over the next week. Fun times!

Just had the truck tuned at Vision Diesel in Aurora Oregon. It’s an EZ Link tune, 5 setting on the dial. Much better throttle response, and soooo much more power.

I also put a Softopper on it. So far I’m loving it.

And I got to work sighting in my new rifle for Elk and Deer season.

Another great trip in the books with the wife, dog, and two littles. Milwaukie OR Twin falls ID Alvord Desert ORJohn Day ORHood River OR and then home. About 1500 miles.
Averaged 12mpg, not to bad considering the 100+ miles and backroads we drove at low speed.
