My buddy took his stock Patriot up the first part of the Rubicon Trail. Guys in serious 4wds were in awe of how far he got with no damage, having never been on the Rubicon before.
Granted he is a very talented driver, but still it takes a good 4wd system.
I think with the new electronic control systems, which can't be turned off, tire selection is going to be critical to get good performance. I would probably look to keep a couple of different sets. One for snow and ice on the road, and one with a softer sticky aggressive tread for off road.
Still think that Trail Hawk would be an awesome Daughter-goes-to-college vehicle. :beer:
