2016 Diesel Wrangler did my dealer spill the beans?

I know, I know...it seems so much speculation has been ramped across the net and maybe this is more speculation. Long story short, I have been in discussion with my local Jeep dealer regarding them purchasing my Jeep Commander.

After a few conversation emails, I mention "Tell Jeep we want a diesel Wrangler" ...and here is what she responds with in true car salesman lingo:

"I told them!! And Guess what!? Their coming out with a diesel Wrangler in 2016 !! It's pretty awesome too! Come buy a Wrangler now and then trade that one in for a new one come 2016! The CEO released the news just recently about the diesel. So are you coming today for the Wrangler ?"

I highly doubt that regarding other 'speculation' the Internet is telling us...but it seems there is a bit more to the info that what she says.

Has anyone else heard anything more concrete?

Sure, buy a brand new Jeep from them that will be worth even less when/IF the diesel does come out in 2 years. Good luck....

When a sales manager can't even spell correctly, I have to seriously doubt their "insider information".

I want a diesel Wrangler as much as the next guy, though I've not heard anything "actually official"

Please....we will get a diesel jeep of any kind is when the rest of the world outlaws diesel!

Ok so Australia has had a diesel JK since 2007 and it's even available as a Rubicon in Europe (VM 2.8 CRD Turbo, currently with 6 speed auto)...

That said, will be great to see the next gen 2016 when it comes out, and even better to see what the aftermarket will do with them ;-)

Right now Im not much of a fan of that VM Motori 2.8
103000km on my JKU with a Full service history from the Jeep agents and the big end bearing of number 4 con-rod went bye-bye.

Prior to this JKU I had a WJ with the 5 cylinder Mercedes 2.7 CRD, that was a gem.

The 2014 Ram 1500 is geting a 3.0L turbo diesel V6 option (240 horsepower, 420 lb-ft of torque).

I have high hopes for Jeep just droping that right into the Wrangler.

Are you serious? No one spells anything correctly anymore. I used to care, but poor grammar and spelling are so rampant that criticizing an email because of a commonly misapplied word is like criticizing a single raindrop for the flood.
