Trailer for sale: Overland Explorer Vehicles TDK $27,500 OBO
Location: Virgin, Utah (near St. George just outside Zion national park)

We are going to miss this one, but we have a new trailer on the way so this one must go. Up for sale is my 2016 OverLand Explorer Vehicles TDK (Tear Drop Killer). If you are not familiar with the brand, OEV is currently most well known for their truck campers, but they have done a couple runs of their TDK trailers over the years. These are constructed in the same fashion as their truck campers. No wood is used in the construction of the trailers. The walls, roof, and floor of the trailer are all 1.5" foam core composite and then everything is tied together with aluminum extrusions and bonded with appropriate adhesives. The frame of the trailer is CNC laser cut steel tubing. Suspension is Timbren independent suspension. Everything about this trailer screams rugged and built to last.

What we have loved about this trailer:
  • This trailer gives you to ability to camp almost anywhere your tow vehicle can pull it. This opens up a ton of campsite options that are away from the crowds. I can't tell you how many times we have pulled into Moab or Sedona and driven through a sea of Sprinters and 5th wheels and found an amazing site just a few hundred more yards up a 4x4 trail.
  • Easy setup. We can pull into a campsite and be setup in just a few mins. If you are just staying the night, no need to disconnect the trailer from the tow vehicle.
  • It sleeps warm in the winter and does a great job keeping the heat out in the summer. This trailer has no heater. For most trailers I think this would be a concern. However it's insulated so well that it's just not needed. My wife and I have slept in this down to 22 degrees with just a light weight blanket and cheap walmart comforter. No heater needed. When its hot out you have windows on each door as well as a window on each side. You can open the windows and turn on the fan to create a great breeze through the trailer.
  • Hot showers. After being out all day mountain biking or hiking you can come back and have a real hot shower. We have a privacy shelter (will include) we setup right next to the shower unit that we fish the shower wand into. Works great.
Trailer is well balanced and tows easily.
Trailer has spent most of its life in a garage.

Things I have added in the time I have had the trailer:
ARB 2500mm Aluminum Touring Awning
ARB Touring Deluxe Awning Room with Floor. This adds more living space to the trailer and gets you away from the bugs.
Aims 2000 Watt 12V Pure Sine Wave Power Inverter (PWRI200012120S)
SuperSonic SC-1312 LED Widescreen HDTV & Monitor 13.3", Built-in DVD Player with HDMI, USB, SD & AC/DC
2 - Renogy Solar Panels 100 Watt
2nd AGM Group 31 Battery
Infinite Offroad LED rock lights. Wireless remote w/bluetooth app control.
Shurflow 181-201 Accumulator Tank. (Dampens water pump vibrations)
Shelf for additional clothes storage under stock cabinets in the sleeping area of the trailer. Made from 8020 Aluminum/Baltic Birch.
Tires were replaced a couple years ago, but are practically brand new still.

Also including the following camping items:

Small blue rollup table (seen in photos below)
Leveling blocks
Extension cord for inverter.
Privacy Shelter for Shower.

Known issues:
Rock lights seem to pick up random RF interference and turn themselves on. We pull the fuse when not camped. If fuse is not pulled light show happens randomly a few times a year.
Factory solar panel on the nose of the trailer has some clear coat issues from rock strikes. Cosmetic issue only as panel still works fine.

Here is a video walk around I made of the trailer yesterday:

Really nice looking trailer. I own one of these too, and don’t see these come up for sale often. I think there’s probably only around 15 trailers ever built from Overland Explorer over the years.
These are very well built and since there is no wood used I don’t have to worry about rot. Sealed tight, I don’t have to worry about any of the elements getting in either. I find it very easy to get in and out from the bed. The full length running boards/fenders are a nice feature for getting my shoes on in muddy situations. There also strong enough to support an overweight adult standing on them getting things off the roof.
Who ever buys this won’t be disappointed in the quality of the build from Overland Explorer.

Mark, thank you for selling your camper to me. If anyone has interest in this trailer and is not on a fixed timeline for acquisition you might consider the following.

I have sold my OEV Summit Camper and truck. I am now without a camper while my new Base Camp is being built. I have always been intrigued by these type of camp trailer and am I fan of the OEV TDK.

These campers seldom come up for sale. I found Mark's camper for sale and the timing was right. I intend to use this camper, over the next few months, and satisfy my curiosity about and interest in this style of camping.

My intention is to put it back on the market once I take delivery of my new OEV Base Camp. It is scheduled to be completed the end of April. Final completion is at the mercy of Ford and their delivery schedule.

So if you have interest in a TDK and can wait until late spring this might be a deal that is a good fit for all parties.

Hello,
My Base Camp should be delivered by the end of this month.

I’m ready to sell my TDK which is listed in this thread.

Rather than a whole new thread it makes sense to update this one.
