this sounds good, but you know how slow little suzi the psychic is - esp. uphill........
the home run is faster, usually.
current "plan" is to see shaver by noon on saturday, so 3ish sounds about right(courtright).
rainier has the short run, i think.

Well, if adam and I are feeling up to it, we may go straight into camp if you dudes are going to be there Saturday night. Adam and I are planning on leaving Saturday morning and if we could get an early enough start, we could be there Saturday. I'm figuring 13 hour drive roughly and I want to be there at least just before sun down. This will also avoid a hotel fee.

Ok, so lets plan on Saturday 3:00Pm for early birds, just hang out on the beach and talk shop, fish, what ever.....Then later in the evening for everyone else. Honestly part of this was a plan change with my wife not going and skipping the lego land idea this year. My oldest (6 hr old) may be coming still. Essentially by starting a day earlier it gives us some flexibility to do more, stay another day somewhere, deal with broken junk....what ever.

Also please remember to get gas, supplies, parts, ect on the way in. The cut off in Shaver Lake has the last gas and auto parts.

Also have we verified that we have enough spare axles, tie rods, plastic drive shafts, ect.....?

2 weeks to go. I feel like I'm ready so much earlier but I still feel like I have so much to do. We don't have chef john with us this year so I'm sure adam and I will be eating from cans and boxes all week.

Maybe rainier will share some of his Top Ramen... Or maybe we'll just steal all of Lloyds snacks.

I'm sure lloyd doesn't want to stop at every Jack in the box in california again.

URGENT PLAN CHANGES MAY BE EMINENT! Upon doing some research it appears that as a part of the Forest Closing Process(planning) they elected to not open the Dusy until 8/1 each year, makes you know who happy. I will check with the FS but I am reading they wont likely open the damn gate before. Therefore we may have to tweak our plans rather then camping an extra day waiting on "The Man". HOWEVER, we CAN rebuild! There are advantages and disadvantages, but we wont skip any of the good stuff. How does this sound?

7/30: Meet at West Lake early birds even earlier. There is an advantage here, its much quicker to get to then the Dusy from town.
7/31: Do Mirror Lake and Coyote Lake trails camp at Coyote Lake
8/1: Leave Coyote Lake, Do Bald Mtn Trail(never have), then camp at Brewer Lake(boring trail but nice easy to get to camp)
8/2: Run Swamp Lake Trail to Swamp or Grouse Lake(leaning towards Swamp Lake since I always camp at Grouse)
8/3: Wheel out Swamp and get supplies at Dinkey Creek. Start Dusy and camp on far end of Courtright(ready to hit Thompson early)
8/4: Dusy to Ershim Lake(long way, but we have a huge jump start)
8/5: Rest Day at Ershim Lake
8/6: Drive out Ershim and camp at Strawberry maybe? Quick to get out in the morning...
8/7: Drive Out Ershim and Home
