$350,000 now $325,000 $25k savings

If not for COVID we had planned to be driving south. Our truck was completed in 2018 and new to us in 2019. The first year of its life was spent driving to Overland Expos and RV shows as the Earthcruiser demo truck. Because it was the demo truck it has almost every option that was available at the time.

This is one of the last diesels Earthcruiser made. It does required DEF (can be deactivated with some $$ and hacks for international travel). This truck still has the remaining 5 year Fuso warranty and has had all its service done by Portland Fuso. All recalls and maintenance are current. There are no outstanding issues with this truck. We are close to Bend, OR where the truck was made and it would be easy enough to have them or Portland Fuso inspect it at your request.

The truck sits with just over 25k miles and will rise with time, although no major trips planned. Have a total of 3 spare tires, one can mount to the truck at a time. Steer tires show some wear and I will rotate them before transfer of ownership. The truck is stored inside heated shop when not in use.

The diesel is small but get the job done. If you are looking to fly down the freeway this isn’t for you but on the flat freeway 70 is easily possible. We get about 14mpg on the highway. Big hills like I5 between CA and OR will slow you to about 45. This thing is a beast off road. Have tackled “jeep” trails, going over rocks and narrow switch backs.

For serious buyers I can zoom/FaceTime and walk you around the truck if you would like. These aren't cheap trucks and I am trying to do my best to paint an accurate picture of the vehicle.

Some Features of the truck (see Earthcruiser for more details):

Forgot to mention these trucks can be financed. We used Key Bank but they are factory units and not a homebuilt truck so it allows the banks to finance them. Contact your tax accountant but RVs can be like second homes and you maybe able to write off the interest.

How does the canvas keep the the interior temperature stable? So nice and warm in the winter, and nice and cool in the summer?
How is it with wind and rain, is it noisy when it's stormy outside and you're trying to sleep?
And how well does it insulate from regular sound outside, compared to a normal camper body?

The canvas has kept us warm in the winter (single digit degrees Fahrenheit) and cool in the summer. Rain has never been an issue. Very strong winds we have lowered the roof but that was due to the truck being so big on a mountain top. You can access and use everything with the top down. I am not sure how sound travels through the camper body vs the canvass but overall it isn’t sound proof but isn’t an issue because we tend to camp away from people. The few times we have camped near people it hasn’t bothered us. We have always got good sleep in the truck.

The canvas sides aren't insulated at all though, right? ie no 3M Thinsulate stitched in between an inner/outer canvas layer? Single digit F is impressive.
Sleeping with the top up in stronger winds would be noisier I would assume, just like in any soft-sided "tent" structure (FourWheelCamper, any of the wedge campers, a RTT, etc).
Bump for an awesome rig near Bend!

Not insulated with thinsulate but triple layered and has enough tension with roof up and the built in tensioner that it doesn’t flap like a tent at all. Much better. I can’t recall ever having an issue with the Canvas flapping in wind and causing too much noise to sleep. Also the single digit is with heater running very low. You can cook yourself out if not careful.

Good to hear on the triple layer; difficult to tell in pictures and I've only been in the FX models at EC HQ. How strong a winds have you been in to test the no-flapping, as you mentioned above that you put the top down in very strong winds?

Not sure on wind speed but it was high. Lowered top not because of flapping but because it reduced overall size and stopped truck from swaying. Again, this was all in crazy wind. Camped along the coast and in storms and never had an issue with the top up.

I guess it depends on each person if they would get claustrophobic but I can sleep without issues. Moving about requires one to be hunched over but it isn’t any worse than a standard roof van I would say. With the roof up I think it is 7’ or more of interior height.

So you can use the bed and everything else with the roof down, without it getting claustrophobic?

Yes. It has entered the consignment program with the earthcruiser. Look for it to be advertised on their website shortly. They are doing a complete overhaul on it currently. I’m sure if you call them now they can give you all the information on it.
