How did those sliders mount?? Pinch seam and a couple kickers to the frame?

They came welded as one solid piece, kickers to the frame where a few bolts went through holes in the frame and other went on top or under the frame with a heavy bracket on the inside. If that makes sense lol

Dropped off the truck at the dealer this morning before work. I have been having issues with my Sync. I have to do a hard reset every single time I start the truck to get it to connect to my phone for music. Tried to do the update via wifi but it didn't take.

Guy said sometimes the upgrade crashes the system and the whole unit needs to be replaced so I'm hoping I don't have to spend 1k on the module.

We'll see. For the time being, I'll be driving my father in laws 2 door bronco

@SDDiver5 Hoping for the best. Its wild they can't just factory reset it to an older update, or that they pushed an update with KNOWN ISSUES that can brick it.
IDK man. We'll see. He said that the new update is too big for some of the units installed pre 2018 or something along those lines and so the unit cant handle it and crashes.

The service guy I walked up to has helped me on the 3 occasions I've needed the dealer and we always BS about trucks and engines and Raptors so I tend to trust him, plus he has a tattoo on his arm that says "shut up I don't care" so I feel like we have a connection lolll

I had the same issue trying to update my Sync system. I found that if you download the update to a USB and split it into two parts it will work. IIRC it has to do with the way that it writes/deletes and the ordering of it. Basically it tries to install before removing older components of Sync and then it runs out of room for it. Basically put the step 1 (removal) components on the flashdrive, run it. When it is done, power cycle the truck and then run the step2 (install 3.0). I don't have the Nav component for my radio and Ford designed the updates for that system, which has larger memory capabilities. The attached PDF shows the file breakdown. I think it was on F150forum.com that I found the info on how to do it.

Got my truck back on Friday evening. They were able to upload the new software without having to replace the module so I am happy with that. They also recommended a complete fuel system service, coolant flush and to replace air and cabin filter. I approved the fuel and the coolant and will do the filters on my own as I was planning on that anyway.

Only cost me $700 for everything which I feel was a little expensive but whatever the majority of it was needed maintenance. I had recently been noticing a very slight rough idle when starting in the morning and the fuel system service seems to have fixed that. Didn't even think about telling them that when I brought it in.

All in all, happy with the outcome and I got to drive my father in laws Sasquatch for a few days so that was fun.

Buddha.

Finally in expo white.
What the heck is a fuel system service? Is it literally just a can of fuel injector cleaner in the tank or something?
Can't imagine what fuel service is, my last two Chevy's don't even have fuel filters anymore.

When i worked at jiffy lube as a kid I did the "top end cleaner" I think it was called. You basically suck sea foam through one of the vacuum lines.

Yeah so I got scammed on the Fuel System service lol. Oh well. Lesson learned. From what I can tell and based on other reviews, it is just a can of injector cleaner.

Considering a few upgrades.

Considering an exhaust upgrade. Dont want any drone or anything really loud, but a nice grumble would be nice, like a spicy sounding start up. I was in traffic next to a 5.0 F150 with some type of exhaust that sounded great. Sounded like a little upgrade, enough to get my attention with the window down, but nothing that was too loud. Tried to get his attention but he was texting so couldn't ask.

Sound system. I want something mellow. No need for a 12in sub like I had in my 98. But want better speakers and some bump.

Catch can. I've seen a few people install them and don't know all that much about them but understand what they do. I also don't know if it is worth it given I've never had one before and manage to get 200k miles on my trucks.

And no @Todd n Natalie no Raptor swap yet. Sorry to disappoint.

My neighbor has a Maserati with a V6 twin turbo and it sounds like a V8. I keep telling him I am going to get under it to find out what exhaust system he has. If my truck sounded like it I would be super excited.

I have one on my truck. I dump it out every time I do an oil change, and it usually has a bit of gunk but nothing that wouldn't otherwise be fine getting recirculated into the engine. I would say because our trucks are naturally aspirated, it really just comes down to wanting one or not. If you had an ecoboost or supercharged F150 it would be another story all together.
