If you’re familiar with the Conqueror line of campers then you know how cool these are. Extremely well built and durable, the UEV390 is packed with features and designed to truly get you way out there and back.
I’ve recently ventured into self-employment so I’m selling off some of my “fun stuff”. I bought this trailer in May of 2021 from my friend who was the original owner, he never used it. He bought it new in Colorado. It was parked in his insulated shop all of it’s life and never spent a night outside. Originally he bought a UEV490 but found that model too big and complex. The 390 is a great compromise in size and features. The layout of the trailer box is so efficient and it’s amazing how well it stores gear while still being totally accessible on the road or out at camp. It really gives a more “outside” experience with the exterior slide out kitchen and prep area. The massive 270 degree awning provides a ton of shade and comfortable space, and the additional awning walls are included with the trailer to create a giant basecamp. There is also an on-demand hot water heater with shower attachment.
Originally the trailer came with a tent and attached annex room. The Platinum edition of the UEV390 includes an electric system to deploy and retract the tent. Although the huge tent offered a lot of sleeping space, I found it all a little cumbersome to operate and get packed up. The tent was also very heavy and didn’t breathe very well. Nice for colder weather but super hot in the summer. I decided to remove that tent (only bolted in 6 places to the trailer roof skin) and fabricate some crossbars to hold a better roof top tent. I went with the Freespirit Recreation Highcountry 80 because the size matched the trailer’s dimensions, it’s super easy to set up, they offer a well insulated fabric which still has huge screened windows all around, and the mattress is even bigger than the one that came with the camper originally. I’ve used the new tent a couple times and it greatly improves the user experience of the Conqueror. The height of the tent when deployed is just right to make an additional shaded spot under the tent.
I have a family of 6 and we found the UEV390 to be just right in size to handle our gear and needs while out camping. It’s still small enough to follow you anywhere you’d like to go. We took it on a road trip last summer up to Minnesota and back home to Colorado. Our 100 series Land Cruiser pulled it easily and we really found it great to have a long as a mobile kitchen and storage unit. The trailer tows so nice and is easy to tug through crowded parking lots while out on the road.
One thing I should mention- Originally the camper had one compartment set up as the “wet bar” which included a bunch of glass cups for wine and booze and some spots to hold bottles. I found that to be kind of silly since most parks don’t even allow glass bottles. I even had a couple glasses crack on my first trip. I removed all of that so now that is just an open storage cubby. Removal was just some rivets to drill out to pull the shelving. Just wanted to mention that incase someone was excited to use that feature.
Feel free to ask any questions, this camper is fairly unique and has a lot to offer. Even though Conqueror stopped importing these to the US I had no issues financing it with my credit union, getting it insured, or registered in Colorado.
I’ve got a lot more pictures to share, let me know if you want to see anything specific.
Thanks,
Kyle
