2018 F250 CCLB Wheel/Tire Recommendation

I have a F250 CCLB 6.2 4x4 with a Granby FWC and I am looking for wheel/tire recommendations.

Currently I have LT245/75R17 on stock 17in steel wheels.

I am considering a 1 or 2 in BDS lift with Fox shocks. BDS recommends:
  • 34" x 12.50" w/17 x 9 and 4.5" back spacing for 1in lift
  • 35" x 12.50" w/17 x 9 and 4.5" back spacing for 2in lift
I was considering a Black Rock 997 steel wheel, due to durability and the ease of tire replacement. (I've had aluminum wheels stick badly)

Does anyone have tire recommendations or alternative wheels?

This rig will be used for a South America trip, so I am looking for durability, simplicity, and reliability. I am not concerned with looks. I would like to have 6 tires total, so I'd like the new set to fit in the factory location and add an additional tire on a swingout hitch receiver. I am also concerned with replacement availability of a 34 or 35 x 12.50 outside the US.

Thank you.

18x9", +18mm offset wheels.

I like the Method HD NV's. You can rock, or steer Al wheels loose. I use a big orange plastic dead blow hammer to get wheels off. But IME, lug centric aftermarket wheels come off easier.

Do the 2" and at least 35" tires. If you add aftermarket radius bars, you can go all the way to 37" tires. 35" should fit the spare location fine, not sure about 37".

But if you add an adjustable trac bar and radius arms, then you just spent as much as a 4" BDS lift that doesn't require a trac bar. I'm going straight to 4" and 37" tires because of that.

I was initially looking at these wheels due to the load capacity. The 18x9 have 5.75" of backspacing. Does that mean they will stick out an additional 1"? Would they still work with the BDS lift?

Thank you!

I just went through dozens of wheel threads.

Stock wheels are +40mm, and 7 inches wide. So the 9'' wheel is 1"wider on both ends, then 20mm further out. So possibly 2" wider. Anything negative offset looks terrible. +20 to +12 range is best.

Negative offset is for the brodozer things, and gm's with pathetic 31" square wheel wells.

Fender flares are pretty much needed, any way you cut it.

I would get a set of Toyo 35 e rated on 17 inch rims. I would also go with carli over bds. CJC off-road is a great honest place to deal with btw.

You could probably find stock FX4 wheels and tires cheap at a dealer as take offs. Tire is underwhelming in tread depth, but 275/70R18 Good 1.5" gain from your 245/75R17.
