looks like the arms are a little offset on the barrels compared to mine. mine are square on

We are planning on a slide in camper down the road. The 3500 has such a better capacity than the 2500! At least I could build a steel bed exactly how I want it.

Any regrets on not getting a long bed?

No sir. Now if a flat bed would have been in the cards price wise, then yes. But as is, the way we planned and optioned it, no. I honestly think the CCSWB is long enough. The turning and agility suffers plenty as is.

Hmm... It sure does. That would for sure help get the swing arm away from the gate. I'll take a gander at it tomorrow once I get back home. Interesting.... Thanks.

I’ve been debating on when the time comes on the long bed.... all the old roads out here that we explore are old mining roads in the desert. Gets tight!

The leaf springs alone are what give the 3500 a better payload. That said, I love the ride I get from the rear coil setup on my 2500 PW and I wouldn't trade that ride for a higher payload. For what I am going to do with this truck the 1500lb payload will be more than enough. Now if I were using my truck to work and tow on a regular basis and it were a diesel platform, then I would be extremely upset with those numbers.

I love powerwagons first off! I figure if I build a steel bed to my specs 800-1000lbs ish. Who knows even if I’m careful. Every slide in is easily 1500 for a pop up to 2200 for a self inclosed not a lot of wiggly room. Plus a flat bed made of steel will help calm the ride. I really like what Ravenmad on here is doing as well with his 2500.

Now back to the awesome build!

Great discussion. I picked the 3500 after having dealt with the 2500 suspenson woes in my 6.4 Hemi, and TPMS nannies. I needed slightly more payload for all our gear, and I HATED the TPMS system. Keeping the rear tires inflated to 80psi needlessly while unloaded is asinine. I also spoke to Don Thuren about his leaf system back in January when he was designing it. We exchanged a few emails, and I will be adding them at some point. They offer 12-14" of travel, which is plenty, and the ride should be similar to my 2500. Honestly with the 37's and the AEV Bilsteins, it is better than the 2500 stock. Especially when the 3500 suspension is loaded.

I wish someone would jail break the 2018 system so that I could change things like tire size and air pressure, etc. Ford's have open source software with ForScan and it's unbelievable the things you can change and alter for free.

Wait?! Thuren came out with rear leafs for the new trucks!?

Seriously I just went to look. So glad I haven't bought the Carli minipacks yet.

Yep, I think they will be out sometime in August. Maybe sooner. I believe you can pre-order now.

Agreed! There is no reason making changes to your own personal vehicle should be made difficult due to software.

Ha! I had no I idea the 3500 didn’t have tpms! Freaking awesome! I hate that light on my E350 on 37’s

Yes sir... The 3500 is TPIS only, so you still get the information without the warning light and nanny alarms going off every restart. It simply shows information, it cares less what pressure the tires are at.

These Ram threads really make me ready to dump my current Chevy and get back in a Ram.

Keep up the good work.

Do it! Do it now!!!
