2019+ Ford Super Duty SRW F250/F350 Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS)

Looking for feedback from anyone who has a 2019+ Ford Super Duty SRW F250/F350 in the Pickup form who did a factory bed delete and added a flatbed with any Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) installed.

Of note, for 2023 Ford does not currently offer factory bed deletion if ADAS is ordered also.

Modifying the front of the vehicle, deleting the bed, or removing the rear bumper may disable systems and through multiple error codes.

Are any of the flatbed suppliers such as LITE Aluma Tray (OEV), Bowen Customs, HPI, SherpTek, etc. integrating the Rear Parking Sensors into the flatbed itself?

Has any manufacturer successfully taken the BLIS system integrated with the stock Ford rear taillights into a flatbed, or is everyone just disabling BLIS? If you disable BLIS, does that take out the 360 Degree Camera or any other system like AEB?

Any experience with aftermarket bumpers that are compatible with forward and rear-looking sensors?

@eyemgh and mk216v both have SD flatbed builds, maybe they can comment.

New for 2023 SD. The new Ford electrical vehicle architecture has officially been named “fully-networked vehicle,” or FNV. Allows OTA updates, but also possibly “locks” out tuners such as 5 Star or Banks. In the past it was possible to make changes like deactivating BLIS or activating Hill Descent, will that still be possible on the 2023?

There is a jumper harness part # HC3Z-13A409-J when deleting the factory bed to bypass the fault codes with the deletion of the rear taillight BLIS.

I didn't get the notice of shoutout as it didn't read @mk216v, but I'm here now.

I can answer about my setup, rear camera(no 360deg), BLIS and rear parking sensors; friend Forscan'd BLIS out before my truck went to HPI for the custom aluminum flatbed. HPI also moved my OEM camera in the truck bed tailgate latch, into their own custom housing on flatbed--same with rear parking sensors. Note that since my Aterra sticks out past my camera location, I'd much rather have a camera on top of the Aterra looking down so I don't have to guess how much farther my camper is sticking past my camera view, but that's not easily possible so I just don't back up so far.

Pic (before underbelly boxes went on) showing 2 round parking sensors per side in upper/lower corners of HPI flatbed, and camera in HPI's black box above license plate.

LMK if I can help with other questions.

PS--my buddy also Forscan'd Hill Descent Control in, swapped out my big hazard switch for the HDC/hazard combo. Lots of other cool Forscan stuff too. Still need to code for 37s now that the CEL error has been fixed in that coding.

@mk216v. Appreciate the reply. Did you sell your factory bed? Seems those BLIS equipped rear tail lights have some value. So all you had to do was code the BLIS sensors out with FORScan? He didn’t have to use that pigtail harness? What’s the difficulty with putting the camera on the Atterra?

My brothers 2019 King Ranch had BLIS with the led tail lights. He needed the pigtail harness so that his window and radio controls would work when he did his flatbed. He got it off eBay?

I used forscan on my XLT to turn off the reverse sending system.

Certainly! Sold it to a major auto wrecker; always looking for clean beds/taillights they said. IIRC they gave me $500-700 and forklifted it off my flatbed.
Yep, Forscan the truck to not be a BLIS truck.
HPI did the camera and parking sensors; easy peasy they say, they do it all the time since they make their own center mount to accept the Ford camera. They probably didn't even have to extend the OEM Ford camera wiring since the tailgate handle is in a similar location to my current HPI camera housing. I'd think a solid flatbed company like you're probably looking at will have all of this sorted out already, just like HPI did.

Odd on the pigtail. Mine didn't need that. Did he Forscan or no?

No Forscan. I don't think he even owns a computer. He had his bed on before he even knew he had a problem?

Maybe the Lariat is different than the King Ranch in those regards.

Yeah, could be.
Something refreshing about not owning a computer...ha!

This is in response to the original thread, not the last question.

I deleted the bed and went with fully skirted flatbed. Proof of concept for my next bed. I removed the wiring harness from the bumper and cut out some of what was duplicate but kept the backup camera, rear sensors and bliss. I pulled the bliss units out of the tail lights and need to fab up a spot on the bed for them. I have an angled bed at the rear and I I think the angle is close to the angle they were mounted in the factory light. I don't have a functioning bliss yet but In theory I should have all the factory functionality when I cut a hole and fab a mount this winter. I will mount a square light cover over it so it should be able to read through it just as it does the tail light. Only concern is the bliss is mounted pretty high on a factory bed/light. It will be lower but with the lift I have not that much lower.

I first tried an actual harness for the flatbed that was supposed to work. The lights worked but my passenger side windows would not go up or down. I am too lazy to trace a wiring harness to the front and figure out what ford did and why or to figure out a plug to "connect" whatever needed to be connected. I think you can pick up a Ford rear bumper wiring harness for less than the aftermarket flatbed harness.
