The high intake is for road dust! Yes it looks cool too. You would have to be really inexperienced to think about taking a MB Van in deep water!

Go check out Stewart Stevenson military trucks. They have them for off road dust too..... If you wheeling in areas that have dust, high mounted intakes work!

The seller needs to disclose whether or not this vehicle has ever been driven in DUST to satisfy @reync 's curiosities before he's ready to make the purchase. Lol

If your concerned about dirt and dust get a cyclonic filter from toyota 17730-31030... Filters out a huge amount of dirt just driving on the street..

This vehicle is built for offroading, including crossing water without issues. Air tanks are handy for inflating tires after you deflate to cross particular terrain multiple times and inflate anything else you bring on your trips or whatever your imagination comes up with. Instant air verse waiting for a DC/AC pump to take 10-20mins to struggle to fill each tire. They have been extremely valuable when you are burning daylight.

Preventing water ingestion is only one use of a snorkel. In many cases people install them to reduce the amount of dust ingested into the engine. That may have been their goal, or perhaps they just like the look.

You would be surprised at how much cleaner your air filter is if you have a snorkle. If you are going through water the best thing to do is install breathers on your Diff, trans, and transfer case.

Exactly. Snorkels are not just fashion or high water. It's pretty dusty out west.
