2021 Airstream Flying Cloud 25FBQ, Equipt Edition

Some lucky sole is going to get one great trailer. We have loved our Airstream! It has been our pride and joy for the last 3 years, but it's time for a change. We built this trailer up to be a truly remote solution for living and working on the road, and has worked out incredibly well. We put a 3" lift on it, to clear what we needed to. We added a 400 Amp Hour Lithium Ion Lion Energy power back, charged by a National Luna NLDC-40 DC-DC Charging System. This system charges from the vehicle at 40 Amps, and has a 675 Watt MPPT Solar Controller in it. That's good, because we also installed 630 Watts of Overland Solar semi-flexible solar panels on the roof. We upgraded the power converter to 2000 Watts, and kept it the same brand so the control panel still works. It has a Smart Plug RG45/Starlink passthrough for satellite communications as well. We did all this 2 years before Airstream came out with their latest Trade Wind model. It has enough battery capacity, solar charging and clearance to get you away from it all for as long as you want.

The Airstream Flying Cloud hasn't changed since 2021, so it is the same as the current model. Our model is the 25' Front Bed Queen, or 25FBQ. We love this layout as it provides a 270 degree view around the back of the trailer when sitting at the dinette.

I went to look at what that meant and there are a bunch of floorplans. Might be useful to say which one you have. They range from 23 to 30'!

I so wish we could do this as I'd jump on it in a heartbeat but just not in the cards at the moment. Gorgeous trailer. Someone's going to get one helluva deal. GLWS!

Doh! Dang, sorry about that. Big error there. I updated the original post to include that. Thank you. Our model is the 25FBQ, or 25' Front Bed Queen. We like the bed at the front because that puts the dinette to the rear with a 270 degree view. We found we spend the majority of our awake time at the back of the trailer, and the not awake time at the front. We decided that sitting at the dinette staring at the tow rig while working a full day wasn't that appealing. With the bed at the front (and the curtains pulled most of the time), we can enjoy more of the reason we are out there in the first place. We also like the 25' length as it is the shortest available model that is 8.5' wide and taller inside. I'm 6'4" tall, and don't fit in the shorter models. 25' is a great length for getting of the beaten path. The longer the trailer, the more difficult the maneuverability. It's a few feet longer than some of the higher end off the grid trailers, and yes it is a bit less capable, but the upside benefits that an Airstream offers outweighed that for us.

Paul, Nice Airstream - Fantastic Upgrades - and very fair price. You staying with an AIrstream or going a different route?
Gonna send to a couple I know who are looking.
Hey Dendy. Thanks! Same route. A bit longer on the next one. We’ll most likely go with most of the same updates. It worked flawlessly for us.
