Pretty widely recognized that homes are appreciating assets and cars are depreciating assets. Not sure that’s a apt comparison

LOl not today and it’s not a car anyway.

Buddys new Bronco paid 57k sold 72k
My 2014 tundra, new $36, traded in for $37k 7 years later
2017 Jeep Recon was 35k book value now they are $40k on KBB

Planes, boats and unique vehicles are all subject to different standards and routinely go up over time and inflation.
LOL ever watch the Barrett Jackson?

Trying to understand what is hard to understand about the terms of use rule that you may not make a derogatory comment in another member's for sale post. If you don't like the description, price, etc ... move along please.

Exactly. Why I have asked for static classifieds ie no comments. Maybe it just draws hits IDK.

While I agree that certain ads can generate many comments about the ad... (I can be guilty of contributing to this). However, locking classifieds for no comments IMO is not the solution. Too many people sign up to the forum just to post for a rig / camper for sale and don't read the rules for posting, and / or do not include enough details such that follow up posts to ask for additional details is needed. While people could DM the OP for those details, often many people have the same questions, thus replying to the thread is the best way for this.
Again, just my opinion.

Please remember beyond the debate that is going on here there is still an outstanding example of an Earthcruiser FX for sale. I know we've gotten side tracked but if you are at all interested in this EC please don't be afraid to ask questions. I've already had 2 offers, albeit below asking but solid offers. Lance and his team at Earthcruiser build high quality highly capable trucks.

It's a fair comparison in the context, which was that it's okay to sell something for more then one paid, given the opportunity. The comment wasn't asserting if one or the other is an appreciating or depreciating asset. Also, more cars do appreciate...It just takes longer than a home. I say if the OP can flip it and make a hundred K good for him. He ponied up the 250k to get it, and took that gamble. I commend him for the creating the means to take the gamble even.

It’s worth what it’s worth. If he overpaid, is everyone gonna’ suddenly pay more? I doubt it. He paid less than what it may be worth. Is what it is, it’s worth what it’s worth.

It’s like when you might have a trade-in, and the car sales guy/gal asks “what did you pay for it”? My response is ”that has nothing to do with the value of the trade, maybe I overpaid massively… you increasing the trade value if that is the case”? They never say yes. : )
