2021 F150 Tremor Thoughts?

Hmmmmm, I did the same. I came out with the Superduty about 3.5Kish less.
Superduty CC, XLT, FX4, 8’ bed, 6.2, 6 speed, 10/9.9K GVWR pretty much a basic XLT $49,255
F-1Fiddy CC, XLT, FX4, 6.5’ bed, 3.5 EB, 10 speed, HDPP/MaxTow, 301A (because FX4 requires it) $53,790
I picked the minimum on both to get the payload/towing/offroadyness I could.

Supercrew HDPP requires the 6.5" box. I guessed overall length would be similar to a crew cab s/box F250?

Agree it is a HD truck so would handle weight better. For me, I really only require that much payload / towing maybe 5% of the time? 95% it's just me driving empty.

So an F150 would be cheaper on gas, insurance etc.... I think.....

Heart says Super Duty, Head says F150 if I am real about my needs vs wants.

Solid axle. I get the appeal but the countless IFS vehicles I've owned have done everything I've needed them to. With no worries of death wobble and possibly a better unladen ride....

I believe the 3.5 makes it's torque much lower than the 6.2 or even 7.3 so i wonder which truck would tow easier? Heavier Super Duty may reduce sway. But again, similar wheelbase trucks.......

sorry about that, I ment for the 3.5EB for the high side of hp/torque, 400hp 510torque.
The 6.2L is rated at 385HP and 430 torque (note from May 2019) Ford didn’t put the 6.2L specs on the build sheet.

I want to hit the stealership up again and check the door stickers of a HDPP and a superduty, can’t seem to get that kind of goody info online.

That right there. Is the reason why I’d stick with F150. Thank goodness Ford even offers a payload package. Best of both worlds.

Agreed, that is one of the reasons I traded in the F350 on the F150 last year. At the time I didn’t know that HDPP even existed so ended up with only MaxTow.

This is what I keep going back to. FX4 with max tow and HDPP.

When I built these two truck, I equipped them as close to each other as I could. F250 is a 6.2L, HDPP is a 3.5. HDPP is 301a and F250 has the value pkg.

F250 is about 7K more plus Super Duty incentives usually aren't as good as F150. (I find Super Duty has less rebates and higher interest rates)

Out of curiosity - what is the drive for FX4 on the HDPP/Tow? I believe the HDPP/Tow gets you the locking rear diff and I know you can add OEM skidplates.....just the 'terrain' modes?

Yup OEM skid plates are $120 here.

Yes, I can buy different shocks, order a button and activate Down hill ascent with forscan, blah blah blah.... But I don't want to.

Then I have to deal with ordering parts, paying for shipping, installing stuff... It's more convenient for me just to order the FX4.

The sticker is good for another 10mph topend.

I like the hill descent mode, skid plates, larger tire, and the package is less than getting that stuff individually.
I can add skid plates at $0 and the HDPP 265/70r18 (32.6" x 10.4") tires are larger than the FX4 275/65r18 (32.1" x 10.8"), this is why it gets confusing. The software and shocks are what the difference is. The FX4 package is $1005 more which adds locker over base and it's still the same $1005 over the HDPP that has the locker to begin with....

*Edit - skidplates are funny, I can select them as an option but its a $0 option and says:

Okay, so how are you adding skid plates for $0?
Do you think that software is free? Granted the shocks are meh but still a bit more over the standard.
Good point on the tire sizes. Are they like for like? AT’s or road tires?

I think Road. I'd just drive 'em till they wear out and replace with something more aggressive.

Yep. to each their own. Those that think FX4 is worth while will buy it and those that don't won't. I could probably live with out it. Skid plates I'd want though...

Just figured, what's another $950 when you are spending 50K plus, haha... May recoup in resale too? Maybe?

Fair - I think resale is there without question but you'd 'think' FX4 would be cheaper on the HDDP since locker is not added....
