2021 F150 Tremor Thoughts?

Okay so lets apply this to the tremor package.
Why get it?
It's a neat package. I think of it like a Raptor light. Kind of a Ram Rebel competitor. Lot more comprehensive than FX4.

.

I like that Ford offers it but, again, If I am real about my uses, a HDPP supercrew with a 6.5" box would suit my needs better. Just wish it had the 4 Auto transfer case.

Different animal, I'd get it (probably) since I'd guess it would be great for resale and you get the fancy Tcase, Torsen front diff and 33" tires....some pretty significant upgrades some of which would be hard to do aftermarket...

The only thing there I don’t have now is the torsion front diff. and the extra software.

So the auto Tcase is the same as the one on your Lariat?
I *think* only 402a trim level F150 Tremors will have the Lariat transfer case as the 402a Tremor is based on the 502a Lariat equipment. I think 400a and 401a Tremors will have the same transfer case as other XL /XLT's. If you can get the 4 Auto transfer case in a 400 or 401 Tremor, that would make things interesting.

Yep, 4 auto really helped out with the last snow/ice we got here.
I have been trying to find the raptor t case part number and mine to compare Just for verification.

It's confusing to say the least!

I bet it helped. That's my biggest gripe with Ford. GM and Ram both offer 4 auto on lower trims. Why wouldn't Ford in order to be competitive?

sorry about that, I ment for the 3.5EB for the high side of hp/torque, 400hp 510torque.
The 6.2L is rated at 385HP and 430 torque (note from May 2019) Ford didn’t put the 6.2L specs on the build sheet.

The 3.5 will smoke the 6.2, especailly if it's 10 speed vs.6 speed. Where the 6.2 shines is its ability to be abused and not maintained for hundreds of thousands of miles. There is a reason so many fleets run them, they literailly don't die. You can beat on them for 40 hours a week, neglect oil changes, and run it WOT leaving every stop light... And it'll keep running.

That's what I want!
But I'll take care of it, not abuse. Want it for a long time.

How do you like the 6112/5160 combo? I too have a 2012 XLT 4x4 crew cab short bed and I'm torn between this set up and a raptor swap. Specifically how does it ride on rough roads? I live on the east coast so I don't need the raptor suspension for open desert driving but I want a level/lift that preforms better than stock both in dynamic handling and ride comfort.

I LOVE it. Its not Raptor suspension, but I didnt need Raptor suspension where I live. It has held up to 50,000 miles of rough use towing, running forest roads, mild rock crawling, and everyday grocery getting. Made a huge difference on corrugated forest roads over stock F150 suspension and seemed to really plant the truck.

For me personally, the Tremor just checks alot of boxes from the factory with a warranty. I can then focus more on traveling and less in building a truck.

Rear locker and front LSD make for a much more confident off road experience, anyone who says otherwise hasnt tried getting up a steep rutted grade with open diffs... My current F150 has open diffs and instead of crawling up stuff I have to rely on momentum and bouncing - ala less control and more chance of hitting stuff. I cant tell you how many times I've had trouble because I'm teetering on the 2 wheels that arent getting power to them... Sure these trucks arent meant to be rock crawlers - but sometimes you're 20 miles into the backcountry, low on fuel, and the highway is 2 miles away through some rough terrain. Stuff happens and I'd rather have and not need in that instance.

The Tremor also comes with decent suspension, skid plates, and 33inch tires factory which are things I would have to improve upon on a stock F150. I'm hoping that Ford will have a Warn winch as an option like the Superduty Tremor, which Ford did mention in their Dec 8 press release as a potential option. With all of those features already on the truck from the factory, WITH A WARRANTY, all I will have left to do is slap on some drawers, a canopy/camper/tent, and a fridge and I'll be on the road...

Different strokes for different folks. Some would like to build and potentially save a couple bucks, some prioritize time and simplicity. There is no right answer for everyone. Cheers
