I see you used block and tackle pulleys in the shop for raising/lower your wheel. Is that the way you do it on the road also?

Awesome build, great photos and lots of useful information here. Thanks, 🏆
Yes, that is the setup we use on the road. REALLY simple and works great. I can pull the tire up easily and lock it in place.

Wow, just wow...As I started reading through your thread this morning it was inspiring, and I thought you what self, screw an F450 with a TC, and super singles when I move on from my Transit...then the more I went through your build thread the more I realized that realistically there is just no way😄. I lack the time, the knowledge and probably most importantly the patience to make something this amazing, you sir have set the bar too high!!

Seriously amazing craftsmanship and vision, glad to see you putting the miles and smiles in with it. I'll be watching this thread in the hopes you visit the New England area in the future as it would rock to see this in person!

THANK YOU kind Sir for the kind words.
YES it was a lot of planning and a LOT of work, but we have what we planned and wanted.

Your timing is perfect! We depart the Atlanta GA area headed for Nova Scotia and Newfoundland in 3 1/2 weeks. We will spend 2+ months on the road and chase the changing leaves home.

IF a meet up works out….GREAT! Part of this adventure is meeting new people!! Talking shop when the time is right and learning along the way!

CHEERS!!

Will keep you posted in a PM.

Craig, could you share who your tire rep is? We've got about 30k on our MPT 81's and while they will pass the penny test it's safe to say our Cinderella needs a new set shoes before the next trip. I've hit a few of the truck shops in the city and I'm striking out every time.

As I was catching up on your build I noticed you'll be heading up to eastern Canada real soon. We spent last fall up there bouncing from the U-P to Newfoundland and back home through New England. I'd be happy to share some of our north of the border stops and such if you're interested. PM or call me if you aren't scrambling too bad on the departure check lists;)

30K...you did pretty well! I use Atlanta Commercial Tire in Forest Park area. Justin should be able to get you a set. 678-577-1997
BAD NEWS...last time I had a tire mounted they did not treat my rim nicely and they broke a TPMS. They paid for a new TPMS but might be looking for another location to mount.

I am headed to the GRIFFIN location Monday to have the new TPMS removed replaced. I think they broke it during mounting as the truck, and dealer, can not get a signal from it.. OH WELL.

ALMOST ready for our trip. I will; reach out ASAP.

Hey @StenchRV ,

Let me add my thanks to you for documenting your dynamite build.

I've dropped in occasionally for posts. But now seeing the whole project, wow ! What an accomplishment. And what a great resource you've left for us.

So again, many thanks to you and yours for your gift of time to us 🙇‍♂️ 🙇‍♂️

Curious, what's the gen with the under tank sink ? I see a valve but not the outlet. Did I miss a second chassis tank ? If it's a "State Secret", no worries ;)

Cross over drains can be troublesome. I've thought to have a container under the sink that's portable enough to make the contents easily "disappear", or perhaps be poured into a stand pipe in the wet room. Always looking for ideas...

Thank you for the kind words!

YES it was a lot of work to build and taking the time to document the build, for myself and others, seemed to make sense. A resource I can use later or share down the road. GLAD it has or will help others. I know FOR SURE other documented builds helped us out a TON during our build.

The tank under the sink is the sink grey tank. The manual valve, early in the build for camping, was replaced with an electric valve. The exit you can not see in the picture is hiding under the blue towel. I placed the towel there for an overnight leak check on a fitting that was making me crazy! The shower and kitchen have their own separate grey tanks with electric valves wired to the number 1 (pun intended) up fitter switch in the truck cab. It has worked out GREAT so far!

THANKS AGAIN!

Got it. I guess I wasn't appreciating the size of the tank and was thinking it would have to be drained fairly frequently - and how.

Now I realise it can be treated like the shower grey water tank and they can be emptied in the same manner.

Excellent. Thank you !

Went south to get north….LOL.
Attended a friends sons wedding in FL. We went from GA to FL and then we are headed to Nova Scotia and Newfoundland.

The family owns a shop doing aluminum fab, gates and fencing.

He insisted on getting a project knocked out while we were visiting.….WELL

Matches the Owl Box pattern perfectly and we will get it powder coated black when we return home.

Mini me! LOL.

The cool things you see while traveling. A couple from Switzerland was just wrapping up a 6 month tour of the US, Canada. They ship out tomorrow from Halifax home.

We toured each others rigs and had wonderful morning coffee conversation.

Based on a diesel Ford Ranger. Swiss company did the buildout for them. Well thought out interior. Weighs in at 7000 LBS, for Europe licensing reasons, and gets really good fuel mileage. The owner says they are going to start building them in Colorado. Would be nice on a midsize US diesel.
