Info on Adventure Wagon Kit:
I installed this kit myself over about 7 days total. I took my time and didn’t rush. Adventure Wagon stuff is really high quality and I had zero issues with the installation. I will provide the full detailed build specs PDF to anyone seriously interested, but here are some high level details:
  • Grey upper with black hex lower
  • Maxxair fan in the rear
  • Molding for crew van window
  • No pop outs / windows in the rear
  • Moab bed + mattress
  • Total for this kit (without install/shipping/tax): $22,215.00

Info on the floor:
This van came with a composite floor which I have reused. Here is how I did it.

Added Components:
  • 3M Thinsulate TAI 1547 Thermal Insulation
  • 0.3in Minicell Foam Floor Insulation
  • 2tec2 Flooring Moonless Night Blue (this stuff is expensive and super nice!)
  • DAP Weldwood Contact Adhesive
  • Tec Vanlife Flanged / Recessed L Track

The process I followed:
  • I removed the crew seat and composite floor.
  • I spent a decent amount of time crawling around under the van with a tape measure to find the ideal spots for two horizontal L track sections. Once I found the exact locations that work well with L track (no frame or any other under-floor obstructions), I cut slots in the composite floor.
  • I cut sections of the 0.3 minicell foam to fill in all recessed portions of the floor van’s metal floor.
  • I used the compost floor to cut the thinsulate material to size and installed on top of minicell in the van.
  • I cleaned the composite floor, laid the 2tec2 material over it, and cut it out to perfectly fit the composite floor dimensions while keeping factory D ring points, crew seat rails, and newly added L track slots.
  • I glued the 2tec2 fabric to the factory composite floor with DAP wildwood contact adhesive and rolled with a 100lb roller.
  • Once dried, I installed the composite floor with 2tec2 fabric into the van on top of the thinsulate and minicell foam.
  • The last piece which is not installed is the L track. A section of L track plus mounting bolts will be included.

I am very pleased with the result and was happy to reuse the composite floor since it’s much lighter and not vulnerable to moister like wood. This also greatly reduced road noise. The Adventure Wagon kit did a good job insulating the walls/ceiling with all of the sound deadening / insulation / panels / fabric, but the floor was the final piece to get the van to a more reasonable noise level cruising down the highway.

Please let me know if you have any questions.
