Well I'm not very happy! It was raining most of the day yesterday and I drove my truck about 15 miles in the rain. Today I was working on the rig and my mattress was wet on the side next to the window. I could not see or feel any water on the ledge under the window or any where. Now it is snowing and 30 deg. outside burr. I can not do any leak checks at the present time. I am going to call the Truck accessory store who installed the topper, but I can hear them now "There is no guarantee against leaks" Well I will cross that bridge Monday! So anyway I was trying to see if there was any daylight coming through into the bed aera (Besides the tailgate aera) so I could seal them up. I have a spray in bed liner so I could not see any light.

Has anyone who has a 2020-2022 2500HD with a topper have any leaks or problem aeras? I might have to spray some flex seal on all the seams. Now I just need it to warm up a bit lol.

I have a Leer, leaks like a sieve, unlike the Snugtop on my Ram. ? Even though it’s under the window I’ll bet it’s coming from the front. On my Chevy the bedsides wrap up and over the front wall where the canopy sits. Just that small difference in thickness is enough to force water through, and then it can carry back. At least that’s where it leaks on mine. Doubling up on seals will help out but frankly, truck beds are inherently tough to make watertight. Was there water intrusion around the tailgate?

I am not sure. I was going to do a leak test but the temp dropped below freezing. I contacted the dealer and they told me that it will leak WTH? He also told me to bring it in and they will do a leak test and try to help me out! I am glad that they stand behind their work. I did buy a tail gate seal kit tho. Bu now I need to wait until next week to install it at my buddy's shop. We are going to black out the bumpers)

Yup, that's their standard CYA comment. While its true in general, it's only true because they don't/won't take steps to go the extra mile around the bed rails. Now the tailgate...that's a different story. I hope the follow-up visit works out.

Topper looks great, sorry to hear you are having some leaking issues. Mine will get damp if I park in a way water runs and pools in lower areas and its pouring out but I believe its through the tail gate area mostly.

Awesome looking truck! I just got a 2022 1500 last week and love how the newer trucks feel. I just came from a 2006 Sierra 1500, and while it was a great truck, this new one blows my expectations out of the water.

Sorry to hear the topper has leaks: maybe adding foam tape at the seals will help? I can't wait to see more.

I got a little more done on the rig today! ( Built and installed a folding side table.) I still have to paint the support leg and I really think I am just going to leave the slide clamps on. This makes it soo easy to remove the whole thing! What do u guys and gals think? I might even use the topper mounting bolt but I know what the installer is going to say when I bring it back for them to do a leak test .lol
And here is a sneak peek of the roof rack.(Not much to see there.) I am taking the truck to my buddy's shop in the next day or two we are going to Black out the bumpers and grill l will finish the rack there where it is warmer

I first want to send prayers out to the families in Kentucky who lost someone in that devastating tornado.
I removed the front and rear bumpers, grill and the fake hood scoop. They should get painted Monday or Tuesday. I had a chance to work on the roof rack and it it 99.% complete! Here are some pics....
It is coming along just fine, Oh I did buy some clamps (2) that hold a topper down. I will use them to clamp down the shelve.

Hey, cool build so far. I have an F250 gasser built out in a similar way but I like the GM's too. If/when you figure out your leak please post here. I just got my cap (same one as you) installed and while I haven't found any leaks yet I'd like to know where to keep my eye on.

I sure will TFin04!
We are running a bit behind schedule. My Paint guy says It will be ready to reassemble Thursday afternoon. So that means I should be able to pick it up Friday. (Fingers are crossed.) I am leaving Christmas day for Florida! I might have to take it to the installer when I get back whenever that will be... I did install a tailgate seal and that closed up the big gaps in the tailgate. So we shall see.

Got some color on the bumpers and the grill face today. We used a black primer for obvious reasons... I also put some necessities on the roof rack. I will do a more permeant mount but this will work for now!
I wonder if Santa is going to bring me some Traction Boards?
