Does anyone know if 255/85R16s will fit under a non-lifted new Tacoma? They are taller than the go to answer of “265/75R16 is the biggest”, but skinnier too.
Looking for real world answers as I have a set of 255s and would really like to run them...
I have a 2018 Tacoma, 3/4" lift in the front, 1.5" Icon Progressive AAl in the rear, and 1.25" wheel spacers on stock TRD Sport wheels. My question:...
Thanks DWW! I had looked at a couple of threads on TW, but didn’t see that one. I should probably join over there, but this truck will be staying mostly stock for a few years as the wife will daily it. I’ve got bigger fish to fry with my new Cummins project, but didn’t want to let the 255 Coopers go to waste.
I put 255/85 16 ST Maxx on my '17 TRD Off Road when I was still on stock suspension and wheels, they fit fine. Aftermarket wheels with more offset could cause some problems with rubbing, width is a big factor for fitting bigger rubber on these trucks. I'm lifted 2" now and they look pretty proper, most of the advantage of 285/75 16 with none of the drawbacks.
