Lift question

Ok BJowett,
As I said earlier this is great info. So glad you are doing this.

I have begun my build as well and using you for inspiration. I like your choice of tires. I had not seen the Geolander MT before. But I have to ask because I am at the lifting stage of my build. What is the "rare suspension" you speak of and how much lift is required on the Tundra to get 35s or 37s underneath? What other lifts would you recommend?

Small 35" tires on stock wheels will fit with minimal mods and no lift as the truck has very large wheel wells. Some plastic removal, trim the skid plate, and one is good to go. Mine does rub the swaybar on full lock, but it is quite minor. Rims with less positive offset would eliminate this issue.

The Ohlins are awesome, but soooo much $$$.

Thanks for the info. I think I am going to start a build thread just cause there are so few of us using the 2nd Gen Tundras.

Keep up the great info.

Yeah, start one up! Having several different (style) builds going will help others realize it might be the platform for them.

On to the good stuff....

LOCKERS!

The front locker is now available, part # RD141. The Tundra front differential is shared with the 200 series Land Cruiser.

If you have a 4.0/4.7/4.6L truck with the 9.5" rear axle, ARB already has a differential available. The part # RD64 for the 100 and 200 series Land Cruisers is a drop in. Good to go!

The big 10.5" axle will have the Locker available this coming May. Finally! Part # is RD146.

I keep telling myself to not pay attention to this thread and to leave the '08 alone........of course......I also swore that I would never modify my '01 when I bought it :sombrero:!

Oh.....those super charger pictures are killing me!

Nice build......and welcome to the downward spiral :victory:!

I too say that with every vehicle.... been spiraling for years. :sombrero: Your 01 is awesome, thanks for posting.

Here's the ARB Sahara I just installed. Bedliner coated, no hoop... need a winch now.

Thanks...

Suspension is about 1.5" + 1.5" give or take from the tires... the bumper dropped it back about .75"... working on that, though.

I think one of these Warn Series 12 Deep Fording Winches will do quite nicely... thoughts? A little mod to the mount will be required, but nothing major.

I'd like to see a full-floating rear or at least find out where I can get a conversion kit.
