My laptop doesn't enjoy eidting video anymore. If only I could talk Holt into sending me his machine :D Posting this in our Completed Trip Thread too, just wanted to share here for those who don't make it in that forum.

Cheers,
Tom

Thanks :)

You never know with video. So easy to do too much or too little, pick a crappy song, etc.

Biggest bummer was that I wasn't a passenger, I get to snag varying perspectives when I'm not driving.

I put all of our ExPo vids up on Vimeo too, on our UPO Vimeo Page

Going to need a new computer if I keep dabbling in video though.

Great stuff Tom, after having my 5D break on the 1st day of the U.P. Overland Adventure and having to resort to Cindy's 30D, then watching so many things that would have been so much better if we had video rather than just still's, we broke down and went and bought the Canon 5D Mark II.

I'm now learning that a 21 megapixel RAW file is pretty dang big. I sent my computer to my guy to up the RAM to 6 gigs and in the next few weeks, I'm sure that will seem slow once Full HD video starts getting edited:Wow1:

Next Year, I'm hoping to have tons of juicy video to go along with the stills

You've had some bad luck with gear lately Pat-first your flash drown and now the 5D went down. I hope your lenses have faired better!

Looking forward to videos.

Nikon/adorama is having a rebates on some gear. One package is the D700 with the 12-24,24-70 and 70-200, unfortunately I'd have to sell the Land Rover to get it, but there is a $1,000 savings. I'm not sure if a Nat Geo assignment comes with the package but if it did, you would be covered gear wise!

Thanks Pat. Myra and I were just checking out 27" Mac's with 1TB

But seriously, if the general trend continues with video for me it will be something we do sooner rather than later.

Was wishing you and Joash were around today. We took our boat out in the Bay and did shots of Riptide Ride's Island Girl for some promo material. The water was awesome, didn't really get wet (advised them that I did not want to ;) ) with the camera's and all. Have some more video to edit :D

We're heading down to the LKH in November BTW. Stock the bar.
