Sorry I missed this. I have a friend who owns a industrial paint shop. He was going to let me rattle can my roof rack in one of his bays because it was too cold to paint outside. Just before I started spraying he said he had a batch of metallic gunmetal parts going in the paint booth, and said if I wanted, he would just throw my roof rack into the mix. I obliged.

BAMF recommended the Rustoleum hammer finish primer and paint for my sliders. The hammer finish hides minor imperfections.

I've used the Rustoleum hammerite paint lots (sliders) and its the best spray paint I've ever used. It wont compare to the powdercoat but it's a great budget-friendly alternative.

Funny you mention this. Even know bamf recommended the rustoleum I still opted for powder coat
