Well Andy, you would be right at home here. One other restoration is getting quotes for paint and another build just showed up last week. Was supposed to be a Coyote install in a Fairlane convertible, now I understand he wants body work and paint as well.





Should make a nice Sunday driver and grocery getter.

By the way Andy- haven't seen any recent posts on Classic on your Cummins project. You need to get it finished and bring it to the Supercelebration in Townsend in April next year.

Man, that'd be so awesome to make it out to Supercelebration this yr, but I'll be lucky to have the new house and shop done by then. We bought a foreclosure that's been vacant for 5+ yrs. We gutted it and I'm in the process of putting in a new HVAC system as well as new walls, new bathrooms and a new kitchen. I'm raising the ceiling in the living room as well. I've got some help and should have half the house complete by January. My new shop should be up by February and I'll be up and running back on the Bronco by the heat of the summer! I'm keeping the old hvac to put in the shop, so the summer heat won't kill me! If all goes well, I'll make it to Supercelebration the following yr!!! Fingers crossed, LOL!! Once I get back to the Bronco I'll resurrect the build thread

Steady progress being made on wiring this week. Solenoids are getting done.





Junction box completed tying in 7 pin plug and other wires to harness. Looks good and makes it easy to trouble shoot. Also additional circuit breakers for compressor, brake controller, etc. in lid.



Keeps everything protected and out of the way, but easily accessible.
Should start wiring the dash Monday.

Finally- the big day is here! Tomorrow we start wiring the dash. Been waiting for this day a long time. After all the time spent on the engine and battery systems it will start to look complete when the dash is sitting in place.



Be a nice holiday present to see dash, roll cage, and seats in place.

The dash should have been installed, but ran into a hitch. Thomas discovered a broken post on the fuse board where the fitting the wire screws into broke free from the board. After a discussion with Jim at Centech, a new fuse board is being sent to us. Just another of a long line of setbacks. With the holidays upon us it will probably be after the 1st before the dash can finally be put in place. Oh well, Happy Holidays, and we'll get back to it soon.

Yes, Gremlins are everywhere. In the meantime trying to figure out how to get some speakers into the cab I came across these pods designed for Jeep roll bars (don't tell Thomas- he can't stand for anything "Jeep" to go on a Bronco). We're still having a discussion about putting mirrors on the windshield frame. Try finding anything of this nature out there not made for a Jeep. I told him to design and build a set specifically for a Bronco,and I would be his first customer. My '76 has an adapted set of CJ mirrors that work great, but I still get a lot of grief at the Bronco events. The way I look at it -if it works and looks decent- why not!





I'm sure we'll work it out one way or another.

Lol!! Where do all the bronco guys think the rear tumble seat comes from??? Jeep! How about the vast majority of Dana 44 disc brake conversions??? Chevy! I agree with u, if it works and looks good, it's an improvement, go for it!!!! Just my .02 though

Hope everyone had a great holiday. The new fuse panel finally came in as promised from Jim, and has been wired in. Things will slowly start getting back to speed the first of next week. Thomas and Jessica are out in Vegas picking up a Bronco for another customer (from Hawaii I think). Anyway, high hopes for the dash finally getting installed by the end of next week. The bezels for my 3 switches have been powder coated black to match the AC louvers. Will paint silver into the lettering and have pictures next week.

^Small suggestion. When you screw, or bolt that board back down to the plastic piece there use a couple small rubber o-rings on either side of the board. They'll keep the board from having any stress crack points.

Finally getting back on track after a bout with a bug and other small setbacks. Powder coated the bezels for the 3 switches and goofed up trying to paint the lettering in. Had to have them redone. New fuse panel is installed and Thursday afternoon we will try to start the engine. If everything looks good the harness will be zip tied off and the dash finally installed.



Not a great picture. It looks better than shown. Got to get serious now, as the Super Celebration in Townsend will be the 3rd week of April and the Bronco will be featured in the Krawlers Edge booth.

I'm a big fan of "what ever works best" and "function over form" but I have to say that I would not want Jeep mirrors on my Chevy, it just seems weird. The speaker boxes are sort of an aftermarket thing so that is totally different but an OEM Mopart on this Bronco would kill me too.

Do you have an idea of how big you want/need the mirrors to be? There has to be a way to adapt either stock Bronco mirrors or some other Ford mirror using a custom bracket/arm/linkage, I mean everything else is custom why settle for Jeep mirrors?
