I'm looking to upgrade my electrical system, and spotted this:

I am definately interested to find out if this will fit my 2006 4Runner.
I called Mean Green and they have no exact information, but suggested I order one and see if it fits. (they will refund me if it doesn't) Not a bad Idea, but I thought I'd run it past you guys to see if you may have a more informed guess.

So, what do you think? Will it work on my 2006 v8 4runner?

The mounting configurations are quite unique from vehicle to vehicle. Do you know the output of your current alternator? I believe the V8 with a factory tow package comes with a 130amp alternator. Should be more than sufficient IMO.

200 seems a little too much!!! I think you could find a local place where you live and have them build you a 120 to 150 amp one for a better deal!!! thats my 2 cents...

Hmm... I had no idea that the tow package had such a meaty alternator in it.
I read somewhere it was a 70 amp alternator. I guess I'll keep what I have! 130 amps should do me okay - 70 seemed a bit under powered.

Thanks for the info! Probably saved me some $$$!

My '06 Taco V6 was sold to me with a "130 amp alternator" as part of the tow package as listed on the window sticker. Take that FWIW.

I think the more, the better, especially if he plans to run a winch, big lights, radios, etc. :D

Wow, 200amp? That's pretty strong. I have a 140amp Mean Green alternator in my cruiser. I wanted to upgrade from the week OEM unit that never seemed to be able to handle the loads that the sytems and lights on my rig put on it. It has been great, plus they come with a lifetime warranty. It was part of my down the road planning of a winch install. Now, even at at idle, I'm showing strong charging. Not sure if that will fit your Toy or not. I had to order a particular model that was designed for my 80 when I ordered mine.

What are you planning to run that requires a lot of power?

Looks like their warranty is now two years.

I have the Mean Green 200 amp alternator sitting in the garage for the UZJ100. I believe it is specific to the LX470 and Land Cruiser.

The stock alternator is 100 amp for the UZJ100 vehicles. I think 130 amp would be great.

I bought it as a replacement when I thought the stock one was going.
