Are these gov built vehicles equipped with hour meters?
Is the maintenance based purely on mileage or time?
Does the rust on the screws on the tcase boot mean anything?

My concern is the vehicle has been idling for 10+ years with the doors open and they changed the oil every 3K miles. Should one be worried?

Disclaimer- I'm not bidding on this.

Hour meters on Gov't vehicles?: no standard policy for installation but you could call the vendor that I previously identified and ask if they installed one on this contract.

Rusty T-Case boot screws?: May not mean much as a lot of those screws are blued steel plus they are 13 years old.

3K oil changes?: sounds as if the vehicle was serviced based on a checklist and not an hour meter. May be a good thing that hoses, belts and so on may have been also changed regardless of the miles
