Nice report! We live in NW Wisconsin and wanted to do a similar trip in September. Got as far as ten days on Madeline Island and most of that included rain. Grrrrr. Cut the trip short and went home. It rained most of September and October, no fun. Left for the winter in early November and currently holed up at mother inlaws house in the pan handle of Florida. Rained all of November and 12” of rain in December. Finally nice. I hate rain!
